Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Nurses will not be required to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in two (2) consecutive years or Thanksgiving Day in two (2) consecutive years, even if the holiday falls on the nurse’s regularly scheduled pattern day. It is the nurse’s responsibility to notify their manager/designee at least ninety (90) days in advance of the holiday if they wish to have their pattern temporarily adjusted. Nurses who request this time off would not be eligible for any premium pay if they later voluntarily work the day.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The evening shift on Christmas Eve and the entire day on Christmas Day shall be days off if the employer so requests one week prior to the drafting of the roster that includes the Christmas period. Exceptions to the above are hotels and accommodation establishments, seasonal restaurants, traffic station restaurants, hospital and service station cafeterias, and staff restaurants.

  • Christmas Day Easter Tuesday shall be observed as a Public Holiday in lieu of Easter Saturday and any work performed on Easter Saturday shall be paid at ordinary Saturday penalty rates. Should Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Australia Day or ANZAC day fall on a weekend, the following Monday, or other day as agreed shall be taken in lieu.

  • Christmas Break The break between Christmas and New Year’s shall be accountable time for all faculty and shall not require attendance on campus. In areas of the University that must, by the nature of their work, operate on a more or less continuous basis, such as the Libraries, Admissions or Counselling, the administrator responsible on consultation collectively with all available regular and non-regular type 2 members in division, shall recommend to the employer suitable levels of operation to be maintained during this break.

  • Christmas or New Year's Day Off The Employer agrees to make every reasonable effort to ensure that employees required to work shift shall have at least Christmas Day or the following New Year's Day off.

  • Christmas Period Article 16 relating to scheduling during this period will apply, except as modified to confirm that the weekend shift employee will continue to work weekends during this period.

  • Overtime on a Holiday (a) Where an Employee is required to work overtime on a paid holiday, as defined in Article 18.01, she will receive compensation equal to 3.33 times her regular rate as follows:

  • Lunch Time A. Yard crews will be allowed one hour for lunch between 4 and 4 1/2 hours after starting work without deduction in pay.

  • School Day A. The length of the school day shall be seven (7) hours and five (5) minutes inclusive of the arrival and departure time.
