Christmas Break. The break between Christmas and New Year’s shall be accountable time for all faculty and shall not require attendance on campus. In areas of the University that must, by the nature of their work, operate on a more or less continuous basis, such as the Libraries, Admissions or Counselling, the administrator responsible on consultation collectively with all available regular and non-regular type 2 members in division, shall recommend to the employer suitable levels of operation to be maintained during this break.
Christmas Break. Employees shall receive time off with pay during that period between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day designated by the Employer as Christmas break. This does not apply to employees who are on leave of absence without pay. Where an employee is required to work during any part of that period between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day designated by the Employer as Christmas break, the employee shall receive equivalent time off without loss of pay.
Christmas Break. A Christmas break shall be granted from December 24th through New Year's Day inclusive as a minimum, inclusive of the general (statutory) holidays or days observed in lieu thereof, in accordance with Article 8.2.1.
Christmas Break. 10.2.1 Employees will receive five (5) days off with pay during the Christmas period in addition to general holidays. Term and part-time employees will receive this time pro-rated according to the percentage of full-time weekly hours they regularly work.
10.2.2 Employees in their first calendar year of employment will have the Christmas break time pro-rated by straight time earned in the calendar year divided by 1785.
10.2.3 Temporary employees will be entitled to the Christmas break as provided for in Clause 2.4.18.
10.2.4 Casual employees are not entitled to be paid for the Christmas break.
10.2.5 Employees on unpaid leaves of absence will not be paid for the Christmas break.
10.2.6 The days of the Christmas break will be determined by mutual agreement of the Institute and the Union based on the calendar days for Christmas and New Year.
10.2.7 Alternate days off, at straight time, will be granted to employees whose presence is necessary for the operation of the Institute during the Christmas break. Employees will be notified at least one (1) month in advance if they are required to work.
Christmas Break. A three (3) day vacation break shall be granted in addition to the Statutory Holidays between December 25 and January 1.
Christmas Break. The first day of Christmas break shall be on the Monday preceding December 26. School shall reopen on the Monday following January 1. If January 1 is a Sunday, then school shall reopen on Tuesday, January 3.

Christmas Break. The Hospital agrees to schedule a minimum of five (5) consecutive tours off for Registered Nurses during the Christmas or New Years period so that Registered Nurses will have either period off. For the purpose of time off, Christmas shall include December 24, 0730 hrs to December 26, 2330 hrs and New Years shall include December 31, 0730 hrs to January 2, 0730 hrs. The Hospital may waive scheduling requirements during the period from December 15 to January 15. The scheduling of time off at Christmas or New Years shall be done on a nursing unit basis taking into account the registered nurses’ preference. It is expected that registered nurses will alternate working Christmas and New Year’s. Where a dispute arises a registered nurse shall work the opposite period from the last year. When extra time off is available, it shall be offered by seniority to interested registered nurses.
Christmas Break. 14.3.1 All working days between Christmas and New Year=s Day, exclusive of General Holidays, will be considered as days of leave with full pay.
14.3.2 The last working day prior to Christmas will be considered a day of leave with pay.
14.3.3 For the term of this Agreement, the Christmas Break from the date of ratification will be observed on the following dates: $ Wednesday, December 22, 2004 to Monday, January 3, $ Friday, December 23, 2005 to Monday, January 2, 2006, inclusive; $ Friday, December 22, 2006 to Monday, January 1, 2007, inclusive; $ Monday, December 24, 2007 to Tuesday, January 1, $ Wednesday, December 24, 2008 to Thursday, January 1, $ Thursday, December 24, 2009 to Friday, January 1,
14.3.4 Temporary employees qualify for the Christmas Break if it falls within their term of appointment.
14.3.5 Casual employees will receive 4.6% of basic earnings in lieu of General Holidays (see Article 14.2) and the Christmas Break.
14.3.6 If employees are required to work to provide continued operation of the College during the Christmas Break, the College will designate the necessary employees at least one month in advance of the start of the Christmas break.
14.3.7 Employees required to work during the Christmas Break will receive an equivalent number of hours off with pay in the following calendar year. This time off will be taken at a time mutually agreed upon by the employees and their Supervisor.
14.3.8 Employees required to work during the Christmas Break will be covered by the meal allowance provisions of Article 12.7 (Overtime Meal Period and Allowance) for each meal period.
