Christmas Break. The break between Christmas and New Year’s shall be accountable time for all faculty and shall not require attendance on campus. In areas of the University that must, by the nature of their work, operate on a more or less continuous basis, such as the Libraries, Admissions or Counselling, the administrator responsible on consultation collectively with all available regular and non-regular type 2 members in division, shall recommend to the employer suitable levels of operation to be maintained during this break.
Christmas Break. A Christmas break shall be granted from December 24th through New Year's Day inclusive as a minimum, inclusive of the general (statutory) holidays or days observed in lieu thereof, in accordance with Article 8.2.1.
Christmas Break. Employees shall receive time off with pay during that period between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day designated by the Employer as Christmas break. This does not apply to employees who are on leave of absence without pay. Where an employee is required to work during any part of that period between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day designated by the Employer as Christmas break, the employee shall receive equivalent time off without loss of pay.
Christmas Break. 14.3.1 All working days between Christmas and New Year’s Day, exclusive of General Holidays, will be considered as days of leave with full pay.
Christmas Break. 10.2.1 Employees will receive five (5) days off with pay during the Christmas period in addition to general holidays. Term and part-time employees will receive this time pro-rated according to the percentage of full-time weekly hours they regularly work.
Christmas Break. A three- (3) day vacation break shall be granted in addition to the Statutory Holidays between December 25 and January 1.
Christmas Break. 2.6.7 Casual employees are entitled to unpaid Bereavement Leave (Article 16.2) if they are scheduled to work at the time the Leave is needed.
Christmas Break. The first day of Christmas break shall be on the Monday preceding December 26. School shall reopen on the Monday following January 1. If January 1 is a Sunday, then school shall reopen on Tuesday, January 3.
Christmas Break. The Hospital agrees to schedule a minimum of five (5) consecutive tours off for Registered Nurses during the Christmas or New Years period so that Registered Nurses will have either period off. For the purpose of time off, Christmas shall include December 24, 0730 hrs to December 26, 2330 hrs and New Years shall include December 31, 0730 hrs to January 2, 0730 hrs. The Hospital may waive scheduling requirements during the period from December 15 to January 15. The scheduling of time off at Christmas or New Years shall be done on a nursing unit basis taking into account the registered nurses’ preference. It is expected that registered nurses will alternate working Christmas and New Year’s. Where a dispute arises a registered nurse shall work the opposite period from the last year. When extra time off is available, it shall be offered by seniority to interested registered nurses.
Christmas Break. Scheduling of Regular Part-time Employees On or before October 31st of each year, the Employer shall provide all regular part- time employees who were also regular part-time employees the previous year ["consecutively employed regular part-time employees"] with a form upon which they shall elect which holiday (i.e. Christmas or New Year's), if any, for which they do not wish to be scheduled to work in that particular holiday season. The consecutively employed regular part-time employee shall complete and return this form on or prior to September 15th of that year. Elections provided by September 15th as above, shall be granted only to the extent of ensuring that the following rules are respected: • Consecutively employed regular part-time employees who work Christmas shall not be required to work New Year's of that same holiday season; • Consecutively employed regular part-time employees who work New Year's shall not be required to work Christmas of that same holiday season; • Consecutively employed regular part-time employees who work Christmas shall not be required to work the following Christmas; • Consecutively employed regular part-time employees who work New Year's shall not be required to work the following New Year's. For the purpose of this provision Christmas shall mean December 24th and 25th, and New Year's shall mean December 31st, January 1st. Where the consecutively scheduled regular part-time employee does not return their election form to the Employer by September 15th, the Employer shall be free to schedule the employee's shifts for one or both of Christmas and New Year's for one or more consecutive years.
