Classified Employees Handbook i. B&G: A written agreement, entitled, “Classified Employees Handbook,” between the Salt Lake Board of Education and the Salt Lake Classified personnel, covering all rules, regulations, and policies applicable to classified employees, will be updated from time to time to incorporate changes agreed upon by the Association and the Board. 1. Work on the Classified Handbook will conclude this year. a. District and Associations agree to meet on September 24th and 25th 2009 to finalize the Classified Employee handbook. (Dates may be changed if needed by agreement of parties). ii. B&G: All items negotiated to be included in the classified handbook, including this year's negotiations. iii. B&G: There should be an understandable book published of the Board of Education policies, which can be distributed to each of the Building and Grounds employees and be posted in a convenient place for reference. Each employee should have free and ready access to it. The Board of Education policies should cover working conditions, sick time, vacation time, and anything of importance to the employee.

Contracts will be issued to employees: 1. Whose job is a continuing permanent one as opposed to a seasonal, temporary, or part time one. 2. Whose job requires skills, orientation, or training of a significant level of sophistication which cannot be readily replaced in case of vacancy. 3. Who meet the probationary standards established for the position. The qualifi- cations and time of probation will be determined by joint study, but in no case shall such probationary period exceed one year unless agreed upon in writing by said employee and administration as to the employee's continued probationary employment. x. X&X: The B & G association officers will be provided current election lists of B & G employees going on to contract.

  • Specified Employees Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, if any payment or benefit provided to the Executive in connection with the Executive’s termination of employment is determined to constitute “nonqualified deferred compensation” within the meaning of Section 409A and the Executive is determined to be a “specified employee” as defined in Section 409A(a)(2)(b)(i), then such payment or benefit shall not be paid until the first payroll date following the six-month anniversary of the Termination Date or, if earlier, on the Executive’s death (the “Specified Employee Payment Date”). The aggregate of any payments that would otherwise have been paid before the Specified Employee Payment Date shall be paid to the Executive in a lump sum on the Specified Employee Payment Date and thereafter, any remaining payments shall be paid without delay in accordance with their original schedule.

  • Specified Employee Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement to the contrary, if Executive is deemed by the Company at the time of Executive’s Separation from Service to be a “specified employee” for purposes of Section 409A, to the extent delayed commencement of any portion of the benefits to which Executive is entitled under this Agreement is required in order to avoid a prohibited distribution under Section 409A, such portion of Executive’s benefits shall not be provided to Executive prior to the earlier of (i) the expiration of the six-month period measured from the date of Executive’s Separation from Service with the Company or (ii) the date of Executive’s death. Upon the first business day following the expiration of the applicable Section 409A period, all payments deferred pursuant to the preceding sentence shall be paid in a lump sum to Executive (or Executive’s estate or beneficiaries), and any remaining payments due to Executive under this Agreement shall be paid as otherwise provided herein.

  • Disabled Employees If an employee becomes disabled with the result that he is unable to carry out the regular functions of his position, the Hospital may establish a special classification and salary with the hope of providing an opportunity of continued employment.

  • Special Maternity Allowance for Totally Disabled Employees (a) An employee who: (i) fails to satisfy the eligibility requirement specified in subparagraph 17.02(a)(ii) solely because a concurrent entitlement to benefits under the Disability Insurance (DI) Plan, the Long term Disability (LTD) Insurance portion of the Public Service Management Insurance Plan (PSMIP) or the Government Employees Compensation Act prevents her from receiving Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance Plan maternity benefits, and (ii) has satisfied all of the other eligibility criteria specified in paragraph 17.02(a), other than those specified in sections (A) and (B) of subparagraph 17.02(a)(iii), shall be paid, in respect of each week of maternity allowance not received for the reason described in subparagraph (i), the difference between ninety-three per cent (93%) of her weekly rate of pay and the gross amount of her weekly disability benefit under the DI Plan, the LTD Plan or via the Government Employees Compensation Act. (b) An employee shall be paid an allowance under this clause and under clause 17.02 for a combined period of no more than the number of weeks during which she would have been eligible for maternity benefits under the Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance Plan had she not been disqualified from Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance maternity benefits for the reasons described in subparagraph (a)(i).

  • SALARY DETERMINATION FOR EMPLOYEES IN ADULT EDUCATION 1. The following shall apply to employees providing instruction in adult education programs in these districts: Continuing Education employees in the Adult Education High School Completion Program (credit courses) and Adult Education Academic Upgrading Programs (Adult Basic Education, General Education Development, Pre-General Education Development, Literacy and Adult Education English Language Programs). Employees teaching Adult Education academic programs including: High School Completion Program, Pathfinder High School Completion Program, Academic Business Education Program, General Equivalency Diploma Program, Adult Basic Education Program, Adult English as a Second Language Program, and Adult Special Education Program, in the Continuing Education Division.

  • Employee Conduct Employee covenants, warrants and represents that during the period of Employee’s employment with the Company, Employee shall at all times comply with the Company’s written policy as in effect from time to time on the acceptance of gifts and gratuities from customers, vendors, suppliers, or other persons doing business with the Company. Employee represents and understands that acceptance or encouragement of any gift or gratuity not in compliance with such policy may create a perceived financial obligation and/or conflict of interest for the Company and shall not be permitted as a means to influence business decisions, transactions or service. In this situation, as in all other areas of employment, Employee is expected to conduct himself or herself using the highest ethical standard.

  • Salaried Employees Employees who qualify for exemption from the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions based upon duties and who are assigned to a class or pay grade, if the class has multiple pay grades, with a top step regular biweekly rate, without bonuses, above the top step regular biweekly rate for the class of Rehabilitation Project Coordinator II in Council-controlled departments, shall be treated as salaried employees, in accordance with the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Salaried employees may be assigned 5/40, 4/10, 9/80 or other schedules at the discretion of Management. Notwithstanding any LAAC and MOU provisions, or other City department rules and regulations to the contrary, these employees shall not be required to record specific hours of work for compensation purposes, although hours may be recorded for other purposes. These employees will be paid the predetermined salary for each biweekly pay period, as indicated in the Appendices, and shall not receive overtime compensation. Salaried employees shall not be subject to deductions from salary or any leave banks for absence from work for less than a full workday. This provision applies to occasional partial day absences from work which are authorized by the appropriate supervisor designated by Management. This provision does not apply to long-term or recurring partial day absences (e.g., intermittent leave/reduced work schedule for purposes of Family/Medical Leave). Salaried employees shall not be subject to disciplinary suspension for a period of less than a workweek (seven days; half of the biweekly pay period) unless based on violations of a safety rule of major significance. This requirement shall be superseded by the revised Department of Labor FLSA regulations pertaining to disciplinary suspensions of FLSA- exempt employees on the operative date of the FLSA regulations. The appointing authority of each City department may grant time off for hours worked due to unusual situations.

  • Contractor Employee Conduct The Contractor’s employees shall adhere to the standards of conduct prescribed in the Customer’s personnel policy and procedure guidelines, particularly rules of conduct, security procedures, and any other applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Customer. The Contractor shall ensure that the Contractor’s employees wear attire suitable for the position, either a standard uniform or business casual dress.

  • Employee Discipline Appropriate sanctions must be applied against workforce 18 members who fail to comply with any provisions of CONTRACTOR’s privacy P&Ps, including 19 termination of employment where appropriate.

  • Displaced Employees In the event of a reduction in the work force, regular employees shall be laid-off in reverse order of seniority, provided that there are available employees with greater seniority who are qualified and willing to do the work of the employees laid-off. An employee who is qualified and yet unwilling to do the work shall be laid-off.
