Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE). Work performed on a full-time or part- time basis; compensated not less than the applicable state or local minimum wage law (or the customary wage), or if self-employment, yields income comparable to persons without disabilities doing similar tasks; the worker should be eligible for the level of benefits provided to other employees; the work should be at a location typically found in the community; where the employee with a disability interacts with other person who do not have disabilities and are not in a supervisory role, and; the job presents opportunities for advancement. The minimum criteria that must be met for employment to qualify as CIE for purposes of the Quarterly Employment Data Report described in Article XIV.C.5. and the CIE Pay for Performance initiative described in Article XVIII.E.3. include all of the following:

  • Supported Employment Supported employment is provided to an individual who has paid, individualized, competitive employment in the community (i.e., a setting that includes non- disabled workers) to help the individual sustain that employment. It includes individualized support services consistent with the individual’s plan of services and supports as well as supervision, self-employment, and training. Optional*† E. Behavioral Support: Specialized interventions by professionals with required credentials to assist an individual to increase adaptive behaviors and to replace or modify maladaptive behavior that prevent or interfere with the individual’s inclusion in home and family life or community life.   • Fixed Term Employment 25.1 A fixed term Employee is an Employee who is employed for a specified period of time, which period is known at the commencement of the contract, or for a specified task such as a project or replacement of an absent employee.

  • Secondary Employment A. For any employee entitled to disability leave, the employer shall pay the covered employee compensation in accordance with section 10.2 governing disability leave.

  • Project Employment 1. The Employer may appoint employees into project positions for which employment is contingent upon state, federal, local, grant, or other special funding of specific and of time-limited duration. The Employer will notify the employees, in writing, of the expected ending date of the project employment.

  • Outside Employment Employees may engage in other employment outside of their State working hours so long as the outside employment does not involve a conflict of interest with their State employment. Whenever it appears that any such outside employment might constitute a conflict of interest, the employee is expected to consult with his/her appointing authority or other appropriate agency representative prior to engaging in such outside employment. Employees of agencies where there are established procedures concerning outside employment for the purpose of insuring compliance with specific statutory restrictions on outside employment are expected to comply with such procedures.

  • Cyclic Year Employment The Employer may fill a position with a cyclic year appointment for positions scheduled to work less than twelve (12) full months each year, due to known, recurring periods in the annual cycle when the position is not needed. At least fifteen (15) days before the start of each annual cycle, incumbents of cyclic year positions will be informed, in writing, of their scheduled periods of leave without pay in the ensuing cycle. Such periods of leave without pay will not constitute a break in service. When additional work is required of a cyclic position during a period for which the position was scheduled for leave without pay, the temporary work will be offered to the incumbent. The incumbent will be allowed at least three (3) working days in which to accept or decline the offer. Should the incumbent decline the work, it will be offered to other cyclic employees, in the same classification, with the necessary skills and abilities, in order of seniority, before being filled by other means.

  • Active/Inactive Employee If you are covered under another plan as an active employee, your benefits and those of your dependents under that plan will be determined before benefits under this plan. The plan covering the active employee and dependents will be the primary plan. The plan covering that same employee as inactive (including those who are retired or have been laid off) will be the secondary plan for that employee and dependents.

  • Resolving an Employment Relationship Problem The employee and employer should first make a reasonable effort to discuss the problem and settle it by mutual agreement. (If it’s a personal grievance, it must first be raised with the employer within 90 days - Personal Grievances are explained further below). An employee (or employer) has the right to be represented at any stage. When a problem arises, union members should contact their local NZEI Te Riu Roa field officer for advice and representation. Employers should contact NZSTA or other adviser/representative of choice.

  • Alternative Employment An employer, in a particular redundancy case, may make application to the Commission to have the general severance pay prescription varied if the employer obtains acceptable alternative employment for an employee.
