Conference and Convention Attendance. An informal paid leave of absence may be granted for attendance at conferences and conventions sponsored by professional instructional organizations which are recognized by the State Board of Education or approved by the appropriate administrator under all of the following conditions: a. Attendance leads directly to the professional growth of the employee and the improvement of the educational program of the District. b. The attendance must not necessitate assignment of a substitute for the employee or the payment of replacement teacher salary unless the employee is an official representative of the organization or is participating as a workshop leader or speaker at the conference or convention. c. The attendance must not result in unnecessary duplication of participation by District personnel. d. The attendance must not necessitate the reimbursement of any expenses by the District to the employee except as provided in accordance with Board Rule 1501. A written or oral report of the conference may be requested by the appropriate administrator or superintendent. Approval of the leave is contingent upon the recommendation of the appropriate superintendent. For conference or convention attendance that meets the standards above, but is not approved for paid leave pursuant to this Section, the employee may use personal necessity leave under Section 5.0.

Conference and Convention Attendance. A paid leave may, in the discretion of the District and upon the recommendation of the appropriate division head, be granted for attendance at conferences and conventions sponsored by professional organizations which are approved by the appropriate administrator under all of the conditions noted below: a. The attendance leads directly to the professional growth of the employee and the improvement of the educational program of the District; b. The attendance does not result in unnecessary duplication of participation by District personnel; and c. The attendance does not necessitate the reimbursement of any expenses by the District to the employee. 16.1 A written or oral report of the conference may be requested by the appropriate administrator. 16.2 For conferences or conventions which are not permitted pursuant to the above, the District may authorize the employee to utilize personal necessity leave under Section 13.0 of this Article.

BCCHS shall consult with UTLA regarding these matters. 13.10.1 Attendance must lead directly to the professional growth of the employee and the improvement of the educational program of BCCHS; 13.10.2 Unless the employee is an official representative of the organization or is participating as a workshop leader or speaker at the conference or convention, the attendance must not necessitate assignment of a substitute for the employee or the payment of replacement teacher salary; 13.10.3 The attendance must not result in unnecessary duplication of participation by BCCHS personnel; 13.10.4 The attendance must not necessitate the reimbursement of any expenses by BCCHS to the employee; and 13.10.5 A written or oral report of the conference may be requested by the appropriate administrator. For conference or convention attendance which meets the above standards, but is not approved for paid leave status pursuant to the above, the employee may utilize personal necessity leave under Section 13.3 of this Article.
Conference and Convention Attendance. Administrators may attend conferences and conventions within the limits of the budget. Requests for attendance shall be submitted to the Superintendent of Schools for the Superintendent's approval. Every effort will be made to include money in the budget for professional growth activities for administrators.

  • Conference Attendance The Federation will be entitled to five (5) person days per year release time for designated Federation representatives to attend conferences. All conference expenses will be the responsibility of the Federation, unless funding is requested and approved through regular District processes for conference attendance.

  • Conference Telephone Meetings Directors or members of any committee of the Board may participate in a meeting of the Board or such committee by means of conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other, and such participation in a meeting shall constitute presence in person at such meeting.

  • Conference Leave Upon written request, supported by a copy of an invitation, an employee shall be granted leave paid at full salary of up to two thirty-fifths of their Appointment Contract(s) to present papers at academic conferences. Such leave shall not be claimed if an authorized exchange of services agreeable to the employee can be arranged.

  • Church Conference Vote At least two-thirds (2/3) of the professing members present at a church conference of the Local Church must vote to disaffiliate from The United Methodist Church “for reasons of conscience regarding a change in the requirements and provisions of the Book of Discipline related to the practice of homosexuality or the ordination or marriage of self-avowed practicing homosexuals as resolved and adopted by the 2019 General Conference, or the actions or inactions of its annual conference related to these issues which follow.” Local Church shall provide documentation, to the satisfaction of Annual Conference, which evidences the result of the disaffiliation vote taken at the church conference. Such documentation must be certified by an authorized officer of Local Church and shall be included as an Exhibit A to this Disaffiliation Agreement.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.

  • Conference Committee The Conference Committee shall meet at least quarterly. It shall consist of the three elected representatives of the nurses plus one clinical unit representative appointed by the nurse bargaining unit, and an Association staff member, and five representatives of the Employer to include the Chief Nursing Executive and/or designee and one member of the Employer’s contract negotiating team. The purpose of the Conference Committee is to act in an advisory capacity to xxxxxx problem solving through communications between the Employer and nurses in the bargaining unit and deal with matters of nursing practice and general concern to the parties. Major organizational or policy changes in the nursing department that have a direct bearing on nursing practice or working conditions shall be an appropriate subject for discussion by the Conference Committee. Attendance at Conference Committee will be considered work time and will be paid at the regular rate of pay. A general group “grievance” as defined in this Agreement coming before the Conference Committee which is not resolved by the parties may be submitted in accordance with Article 18 at Step Two of the Grievance Procedure.

  • Conference Promptly after the execution of this Contract, Contractor shall confer with the Program Manager, Design Professional, Owner, and Using Agency to identify personnel and relevant organizational charts of each team member, and to establish working relationships with each team member.

  • PRE-JOB CONFERENCE a) The Employer shall notify the union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award. Prior to the start of each project, a pre-job conference shall be held to determine all site-specific issues as outlined in the Agreement.
