Conversion at Death. In the event an employee’s death is a result of illness or injury sustained in the performance of his or her regular duties, the employee’s spouse or estate shall be paid the employee’s accrued but unused sick leave to a maximum of one thousand (1,000) hours.
Conversion at Death. In the case of the death of an employee, the unused vacation leave to the credit of such employee shall be paid to the deceased employee’s spouse, or to the estate of employee. Employees shall be required to provide written documentation as to their beneficiary for the purposes of this section.
Conversion at Death. Employees who die shall be considered to have terminated their employment as of the date of their death, and shall be eligible for such sick leave payment for which they would otherwise qualify under this article. To qualify for such payment, such deceased employee shall have had, prior to the date of death, ten (10) years of continuous service with Tuscarawas County, and have been eligible to receive PERS benefits prior to death. Such payment shall be made in accordance with ORC 2113.04 or paid to the employee’s estate.

Employees shall be required to provide written documentation as to their 3 beneficiary for the purposes of this section. 5 Section 20.6. Shifts. Any Communications Sergeant assigned to the 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. will 6 be considered a day shift employee, and any Communications Sergeant assigned to the 7:00 p.m. 7 to 7:00 a.m. shift will be considered as a midnight shift employee, for the purposes of granting 8 vacation.
Conversion at Death. In the event of the death of an employee, the employee’s estate will be paid 50% of the employee’s accrued sick leave at the then current rate of pay.

In the case of the death of an employee, the unused 31 vacation leave to the credit of any such employee shall be paid to the deceased employee's 32 spouse and then to the estate if no spouse survives. 34 ARTICLE 24 35 HOLIDAYS 37 Section 24.1. Paid Holidays All full-time employees covered under this Agreement 38 shall be entitled to the following 12 paid holidays: 39 New Years Day Columbus Day 40 Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day Veterans’ Day 41 Presidents' Day Thanksgiving Day 42 Memorial Day Day After Thanksgiving 43 Independence Day Christmas Eve 1 Labor Day Christmas Day 3 Section 24.2. Holidays on Weekends In the event any of the aforementioned holidays 4 fall on a Saturday, the Friday immediately preceding shall be observed as the holiday. In 5 the event any of the aforementioned holidays falls on a Sunday, the Monday immediately 6 succeeding shall be observed as the holiday. During a four (4) day, ten (10) hour schedule, 7 it shall be at the Engineer’s discretion to determine an observed holiday (Article 14, Section 8 2). 10 Section 24.3. Holiday Pay Full-time employees shall be paid for eight (8) hours at their 11 straight time hourly rate for each of the holidays listed in Section 1 above when no work is 12 performed on such holiday. [Refer to Article 14, Section 2 regarding ten (10) hour work 13 days.] 15 Section 24.4. Pay on Holiday Any work performed by an employee on any one of the 16 days listed in Section 1 shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) the straight time 17 rate in addition to the holiday pay.
