Cultural Awareness Training. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction commits to providing ongoing cultural awareness training to all of its staff to ensure improved communication, service, and understanding in working with the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and serving tribal students. Through its American Indian Studies Program established within the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction via Wisconsin Act 31 to support school districts’ efforts to provide instruction in Wisconsin American Indian history, culture, and tribal sovereignty, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is committed to statewide trainings and technical assistance to school districts and the development and dissemination of resources and materials to ensure best practices and quality in teaching and learning about the history, culture, and tribal sovereignty of the eleven federally-recognized American Indian nations and tribal communities in the state of Wisconsin.

Cultural Awareness Training. ‌ 1. The Minister agrees that all persons appointed to the Board, who are not Aboriginal Owners, will be required to undertake an appropriate short course of cultural awareness training to be run by or approved by the Board. 2. The reasonable cost of cultural awareness training for Board members will be met from the Board's funds. 3. All Service officers who are not Yuin people who are appointed to or are to act for any continuous period longer than two months in the position of Regional Manager for the Region in which the Lands are situated, or any Service positions located on or exclusively or predominantly involved in the management of the Lands will be required to undertake an appropriate short course of cultural awareness training to be run by or approved by the Board. 4. Such training for such Service officers who are not Yuin people at the commencement of this Lease shall be held within six months of the date of publication of the proclamation recited in 5.2.1 and for such Service officers who fall under this provision after the commencement of this Lease, within one month of the requirement arising. 5. The reasonable agreed cost of cultural awareness training for such Service officers who are not Aboriginal people will be met by the Service.

Through its American Indian Studies Program established within the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction via Wisconsin Act 31 to support school districts’ efforts to provide instruction in Wisconsin American Indian history, culture, and tribal sovereignty, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is committed to statewide trainings and technical assistance to school districts and the development and dissemination of resources and materials to ensure best practices and quality teaching and learning about the history, culture, and tribal sovereignty of the eleven federally-recognized American Indian nations and tribal communities in the State of Wisconsin.
Cultural Awareness Training. (a) All current staff are to receive cultural training by a local, first nations provider, on the cultural significance and practices of each location the Employer operates. (b) All new staff will, within 4 months of their commencement date, receive cultural training by a local, first nations provider on the cultural significance and practices of each location the Employer operates. The undergoing of this training is subject to the availability of the individual(s) providing the training.
