Designation of General Holidays. The Employer recognizes the following as paid holidays for all employees without regard to whether or not they work the holiday: New Year’s Day President’s Day Good Friday Memorial Day Juneteenth Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Day When a holiday falls on an employee’s regularly scheduled day off, payment for the holiday shall not count as hours worked for purposes of computing overtime. Holiday pay for full-time employees who are assigned a regular eight (8) hour shift (exclusive of lunch) shall be eight (8) hours’ pay at each employee’s regular straight time base hourly rate of pay. Holiday pay for employees who are assigned a regular twelve (12) hour shift shall be twelve (12) hours’ pay at each employee’s regular straight time base hourly rate of pay. The foregoing payments shall be referred to as “holiday pay” for purposes of this Agreement. To be entitled to holiday pay, the employee (1) must work his last scheduled shift immediately preceding the holiday and his first scheduled shift immediately following the holiday (leave and approved extra days(s) off (“EDO”) shall be considered time worked) and (2) must be on the County’s active payroll upon the occurrence of the holiday (e.g. employees on layoff or unpaid leave of absence shall not be deemed to be on the County’s active payroll. Layoff for the purpose of this paragraph shall mean an employee off work for a period in excess of four (4) working days, the holiday included.)

  • Designation of Holidays 1.   • Additional Holidays Every day declared by the President, or the Governor of this State, as a public fast, mourning, thanksgiving, or holiday, or any day declared by the Governing Board under Education Code Section 45203 shall be a paid holiday for all employees in the bargaining unit.

  • Annual Holidays (i) On completion of 12 months continuous service an employee shall be entitled to annual paid leave of 4 working weeks.

  • Personal Holidays An employee may choose one (1) workday as a personal holiday during each calendar year if the employee has been continuously employed by the State of Washington for more than four (4) months.

  • HOLIDAYS THAT FALL ON A SATURDAY For those employees assigned to a work week of Monday through Friday, and in the event a legal holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as a holiday; provided, however, that except where the Governor declares that such preceding Friday shall be a legal holiday, each department head shall make provision for the staffing of public offices under his/her jurisdiction on such preceding Friday so that said public offices may serve the public as provided in Section 16.4 of the Administrative Code. Those employees who work on a Friday which is observed as a holiday in lieu of a holiday falling on Saturday shall be allowed a day off in lieu thereof as scheduled by the appointing officer in the current fiscal year.

  • Federal Holidays The Employee shall be entitled to federal holidays per calendar year. This is subject to change by the Employer from time to time. If for any reason the Employee should request a Federal Holiday off, the Employer shall determine if the Employee may do so and if it shall be taken from either the Employee’s Personal Leave or Vacation Time. Federal Holidays are determined by the Employer and may change every calendar year.

  • Legal Holidays In any case where the date on which any payment is due shall not be a Business Day, then (notwithstanding any other provision of the Notes or this Indenture) payment need not be made on such date, but may be made on the next succeeding Business Day with the same force and effect as if made on the date on which nominally due, and no interest shall accrue for the period from and after any such nominal date.

  • Special Holidays A Special Holiday is a holiday declared a holiday by the University for its employees other than a Saturday, Sunday, General (Statutory) Holiday or day declared by the University to be in lieu of a Statutory Holiday. The rate of pay for the Special Holiday shall be that which the employee would have received if she/he had worked.

  • Annual Leave Exclusive of Public Holidays The period of annual leave prescribed by this clause is exclusive of any public holidays, and if any such holiday falls within an employee’s period of annual leave and is observed on a day which in the case of that employee would have been an ordinary working day, there will be added to the period of annual leave time equivalent to the ordinary time which the employee would have worked if such day had not been a holiday.
