DISCIPLINE PURPOSE. The purpose of this section is to set forth the procedures for, and the conditions under which employees may be disciplined. Employees shall have the right to have a union representative present at any meeting, which may lead or will lead to disciplinary action. DISCIPLINE PURPOSE. The purpose of discipline is to ensure high standards of performance and efficiency, to maintain good working relationships among employees, and to provide the citizens of the City with the highest possible level of courteous and professional public service. Discipline in the Department is for the most part “self discipline.” It is the duty of each employee to make a conscientious effort to work and behave in accordance with the values, service standards, policies and guidelines of the Department and the City. Each employee is expected to be self-­‐disciplined, to work hard at being the best at what they do, and to help the City provide a high level of public service. When an employee does not exercise adequate self-­‐discipline, it may be necessary for supervision to initiate disciplinary actions to correct the problem. Discipline or discharge of bargaining unit represented employees will be for just cause. Disciplinary actions for unsatisfactory performance shall be taken in compliance with Section 24.07.

  • Discipline Procedure To ensure that there is no misunderstandings when discipline is to be administered the Parties shall adhere to the following procedure in each instance of discipline.

  • DISCIPLINE PROCEDURES The discipline procedure may be initiated only within twenty (20) Days of the date the President or Vice-President (Academic and Research) knew, or ought reasonably to have known, of the occurrence of the matter giving rise to discipline.   • Discipline Policy A Discipline Policy Committee will be formed upon the request of the Association or the Board of Education. The committee will be comprised of members appointed by the Board and the Association. By the appropriate means determined by the Board, families will be informed of the District's policies regarding student behavior and discipline procedures. The foregoing committees, study groups, or faculty councils shall serve as advisory, consultative and fact-finding bodies only, and the Board shall not be required to adopt any of the recommendations submitted. The Board agrees, however, that the Association and the teachers shall have the right to submit recommendations and views on these subjects.

  • Grounds for Discipline Incompetency, inefficiency, dishonesty, drunkenness, immoral conduct, insubordination, discourteous treatment of the public, neglect of duty, absence without leave, substance abuse, failure of good behavior, violations of City or department work rules, policies, procedures, or any other acts of misfeasance, malfeasance, or nonfeasance, shall be cause for disciplinary action.

  • Discipline and Termination Employee recognizes that Employee’s promise to remain as President of the Institution through the entire Term is of the essence of this Agreement to the Employer.
