Educational Leave After completing one (1) year of service, an employee, upon 29 request, may be granted a leave of absence without pay for educational purposes at an 30 accredited school when it is related to his or her employment. The period of such leave 31 of absence shall not exceed one (1) year, but it may be renewed or extended upon the 1 request of the employee when necessary. At the request of management, the 2 employee shall submit verification of course work taken. 3 One (1) year leaves of absence for educational purposes, including any 4 requested extension, may not be granted more than once in any three (3) year period. 5 Employees may also be granted leaves of absence with or without pay for 6 educational purposes for reasonable lengths of time to attend conferences, seminars, 7 briefing sessions, or other functions of a similar nature that are intended to improve or 8 upgrade the individual's skill or professional ability, provided it does not interfere with 9 the operation of the County.

Related to Educational Leave After

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.

  • Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.

  • Maternity Adoption and Parental Leave The following in part reflects the provisions of the Employment Standards Act on these matters. In all cases of dispute, and where the Act as amended from time to time is superior, the provisions of the Act will prevail.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.
