ENROLLING NEW STUDENTS Sample Clauses

ENROLLING NEW STUDENTS. Students entering Bethel schools should not be placed in their permanent classroom for a minimum of 24 hours after entry except where prohibited by law. This wait allows the receiving teacher to organize his or her classroom to prepare for the new student, and to consult with the principal/counselor regarding placement. During this 24-hour period, (one school day), the school may do entry testing, gather information about the student from the previous school, use a student greeter to orient the student to the school or other activities before the school day is over. If the parent is agreeable, the student may return home until the following day. However, the parent has the right to insist that the student stay at the school for the full day. Consideration needs to be given to class composition when placing new students in classrooms.
