Common use of Entitlement to Carer’s leave Clause in Contracts

Entitlement to Carer’s leave. Carer’s leave is available as follows: (a) In the first year of employment, the employee can take up to 6 days of available sick leave as carer’s leave. (b) In the second year of employment, the employee can take up to 8 days of available sick leave as carer’s leave. (c) In the third and subsequent years of employment, the employee can take up to 12 days of available sick leave as carer’s leave. (d) If the current year's entitlement to sick leave is exhausted, accumulated sick leave may be accessed for carer’s leave. (e) If all accessible leave for the purpose of carer’s leave is exhausted, an employee may, with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor or nominee, take leave without pay to cover the absence.
