Entry Rates a. The current five (5) year service scale/rate progression rules in effect, shall be amended in accordance with this Section. Such revised rules shall be applicable to all employees who enter train or engine service after September 16, 2011.
Entry Rates. Article III, Section 1
(a) For the first 244 days of actual service, helpers shall be paid 75% of the applicable rate.
(b) For the second 244 days of actual service, helpers shall be paid 85% of the applicable rate.
(c) For the third 244 days of actual service, helpers shall be paid 90% of the applicable rate. Sections 2, 3 and 4 of Article III of the December 18, 1987 National Agreement remained unchanged. Entry Rates. Section 1 Ä Service First 12ÄMonths Employees entering service on and after the effective date of this Article shall be paid as follows for all service performed within the first twelve (12) calendar months of service when working in a capacity other than engineer:
(a) For the first twelve (12) calendar months of employment, new employees shall be paid 90% of the applicable rates of pay (including COLA) for the class and craft in which service is rendered, exclusive of arbitraries and/or special allowances which shall be paid at the full amount.
Entry Rates of the October 17, 1986 National Agreement (as amended), including all applicable Side Letters, and all other local rules governing entry rates are amended to provide that covered employees shall be paid at 90 percent of the applicable rates of pay (including COLA) for the first twelve (12) calendar months of employment and shall be paid at 95 percent of the applicable rates of pay (including COLA) for the second twelve (12) calendar months of employment for all service performed on positions by an agreement with the organization.

(a) For the first twelve (12) calendar months of employment, new employees shall be paid 80% of the applicable rates of pay for the class and craft in which service is rendered.
(b) For the second twelve (12) calendar months of employment, new employees shall be paid 90% of the applicable rates of pay for the class and craft in which service is rendered. Thereafter, employees will be paid full rates.
(c) Any calendar month in which an employee does not render at least ten (10) days compensated service shall not count toward completion of the twelve (12) month period.

Entry Rates. (1) Service First 12-months. Employees entering service on and after the effective date of this Rule shall be paid as follows for all service performed within the first twelve (12) calendar months of service:
(a) For the first twelve (12} calendar months of employment, new employees shall be paid 90% of the applicable rates of pay (including COLA) for the class and craft in which service is rendered. However, an employee promoted to a higher class shall not be paid at a rate of pay lower than the rate he would have been paid had he remained in the lower class.
(b) When an employee has completed a total of twelve (12) calendar months of employment in any shop craft position (or combination thereof) the provisions of sub-paragraph (a) above will no longer be applicable. Employees who have had a shop craft employment relationship with the carrier and are rehired in a shop craft position will be paid at the full applicable rate after completion of a total of twelve
Entry Rates. A. Employes entering service on and after effective date of this agreement shall be paid for all service performed within the first 12 calendar months of service 85% and the second 12 calendar months of service 92% of the applicable rates of pay (including COLA).
B. For employes who have had an employment relationship with the Carrier and are rehired, services will be combined in determining the 12 and 24 calendar months of employment.
C. Service in a craft not represented by the organization signatory hereto shall not be considered in determining periods of employment under this rule. Clerical employes of the Western Fruit Express Company taking employment with the Burlington Northern Inc. subject to the general rules agreement will have their service time with the Western Fruit Express Company counted in the application of this Entry Rate Rule.
D. Any calendar month in which an employe does not render compensated service due to voluntary absence, suspension or dismissal shall not count toward completion of the 24-month period.
E. Sick Leave payments made in accordance with Rule 55 Section 1 B will not be subject to this Entry Rate Agreement.
Entry Rates. In any class of service or job classification, rates of pay, additives, and other applicable elements of compensation for an employee whose seniority in train or engine service is established after the date of this Agreement will be at 85% of the rate for present employees and will increase in increments of 5 percentage points for each year of active service until the new employee's rate is equal to that of present employees. A year of active service shall consist of a period of 365 calendar days in which the employee performs a total of 80 or more tours of duty. This Rule does not apply to employees whose seniority in either train or engine service precedes the date of this Agreement.
Entry Rates. Effective April 1, 2008, all regular full-time employees hired on or after that date or employees who are in progression shall receive the following hourly rates of pay:
