EXTENDED FORMAL EDUCATION. Tuition reimbursement shall only be made for graduate coursework that has been approved by the superintendent and has direct educational merit for purposes of placement or horizontal advancement on the salary schedule of the District. The District shall reimburse a teacher who makes proper application toward graduate college credit up to $250 per hour, not to exceed the actual cost of tuition. A calendar year is defined as the beginning of the school year to the beginning of the following school year. Application for reimbursement will be linked to the current approval system. At the end of the calendar year, reimbursement shall be at the lesser of $250 per credit hour or the actual cost of tuition. Total reimbursement for all staff will not exceed $20,000 for each year of the contract in FY 2022, FY 2023, FY 2024, and FY 2025. Any unused money from a FY may roll over into the next FY. Transcripts must be received by October 1st and payout will be by October 30th. Transcripts that are received after October 1st will be paid as part of the following year reimbursements. A course description and cost of tuition should be attached to the pre-approval form. Teachers that receive tuition reimbursement must remain with the district for 3 years after completion of the last course. Should the teacher leave the district prior to that time, the teacher will pay back the amount reimbursed. Failure to comply will result in these payments being considered outstanding debts that may be grounds for collection action and/or reporting to credit bureaus. Licensed employees who are at BA 24 and not pursuing a Master’s degree or Master’s +32 shall be allowed to take 1 master’s level class per every 2 years. Tuition will be paid by the district. All classes must be approved by the superintendent or his designee. The district may encourage and approve teachers to earn extra certifications to grow class offerings to students. This may include dual credit certification, dual language certification, STEAM, gifted or other certifications that allow students to increase their educational experience. The district will provide the tuition for these programs that are approved by the superintendent. The money for the tuition will not come from the money provided for extended formal education. All certification programs must be preapproved by the superintendent.

EXTENDED FORMAL EDUCATION. 50% of the savings due to decreases in health insurance premiums of NBESS members will be used to create and maintain an NBESS Formal Education Fund. Any unused portion from the prior years will be rolled over. The total fund will not exceed $200 per member. Tuition reimbursement shall be made for accredited college coursework that has been approved by the Superintendent and has a direct educational benefit to the performance of the employee’s job. The District shall reimburse an employee who makes proper application toward college credit up to $100 per hour, not to exceed the actual cost of tuition. Reimbursement will be pro-rated based upon the amount of money available in total, divided by the total number of credits submitted, not to exceed the per credit amount. Transcripts must be received by the District office by October 1st, unless the District Office is closed, in which case they must be received by the next day that the District Office is open. Payout will be by November 20th.

  • Continuing Education 24.01 The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • Special Education Teachers Whenever any Elementary Special Education class to which a student(s) is(are) added as a result of the distribution of students from the class of an absent Elementary Special Education teacher, Article 8-7 shall be in effect. In addition, whenever the class size of the receiving Special Education teacher exceeds the class size maxim mandated by Special Education class size law and/or regulation, the Xxxxxxxx Formula in AAA Case No. 1139-0696- 85, February 21, 1986, shall be used to calculate the compensation which said teacher shall receive as follows: The rate of pay for said teacher for teaching said additional students shall be computed by multiplying the teacher’s daily gross compensation by a fraction in which the denominator is twenty-six (26) and the numerator is the number of children taught in excess of Article 8-1.1 Item 3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the parties.

  • Required Education (a) The Employer shall provide and fund any Employer required training/education for a Nurse.

  • Employee Education (A) At the discretion of the Agency Head or designee, the state may allow employees to attend short courses, institutes, and workshops which will improve their performance in their current position, without a loss of pay and benefits.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.
