Fibers. IF fibers are required, the Contractor shall add them to the mix in the proportions recommended by the manufacturer.
Fibers. For purposes of this section fibers are defined as all fibers regardless of composition as counted in the OSHA Reference Method (ORM), NIOSH Method 7400 procedure, or asbestos fibers of any size as counted using either a scanning or transmission electron microscope.
Fibers. MFN shall perform appropriate Scheduled Maintenance on the cable containing the NEXTLINK Fibers in accordance with MFN's then current preventative maintenance procedures as agreed to by NEXTLINK, which shall not substantially deviate from standard industry practice. MFN shall maintain sufficient capability to teleconference with NEXTLINK during an Emergency Unscheduled Maintenance in order to provide regular communication during the repair process. When correcting or repairing cable discontinuity or damage, including but not limited to in the event of Emergency Unscheduled Maintenance, MFN shall use reasonable efforts to repair traffic-affecting discontinuity within four (4) hours after the MFN maintenance employee's arrival at the problem site. In order to accomplish such objective, it is acknowledged that the repairs so effected may be temporary in nature. In such event, within twenty-four (24) hours after completion of any such Emergency Unscheduled Maintenance, MFN shall commence its planning for permanent repair, and thereafter promptly shall notify NEXTLINK of such plans, and shall implement such permanent repair within an appropriate time thereafter. Restoration of open fibers on fiber strands not immediately required for service shall be completed on a mutually agreed-upon schedule. If the fiber is required for immediate service, the repair shall be scheduled for the next available Planned Service Work Period ("PSWP"). In performing repairs, MFN shall comply with the splicing specifications as set forth in Exhibit E. MFN shall provide to NEXTLINK any modifications to these specifications as may be necessary or appropriate in any particular instance for NEXTLINK's approval, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. MFN's representatives that are responsible for initial restoration of a cut cable shall carry on their vehicles the typically appropriate equipment that would enable a temporary splice, with the objective of restoring operating capability in as little time as possible. MFN shall maintain and supply an inventory of spare cable in storage facilities supplied and maintained by MFN at strategic locations to facilitate timely restoration.
Fibers. The fiber identified on Schedule 5.19
Fibers. Structural reinforcing filament material types shall be glass fiber, aramid fiber or carbon fiber. If carbon fiber reinforcement is used the design shall incorporate means to prevent galvanic corrosion of metallic components of the cylinder. The manufacturer shall keep on file the published specifications for composite materials, the material manufacturer's recommendations for storage, conditions and shelf life and the material manufacturer's certification that each shipment conforms to said specification requirements. The fiber manufacturer shall certify that the fiber material properties conform to the manufacturer's specifications for the product.
Fibers. The GCCIA Fiber comprises two (2) Cables of forty-eight (48) Fibers deployed along the Route set out above. GCCIA will keep twenty (20) Fibers for its own use. The remaining seventy-six (76) Fibers are available for IRUs, provided that Customer may not acquire an IRU in more than two (2) pairs of Fibers per Route Segment (Customer may acquire one second pair of Fibers for resiliency reasons). The Fibers are single-mode and follow the G652D standards (see Exhibit (B)) for both the submarine and the terrestrial segments. The type of Fiber is mostly OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) but there is also submarine and underground Fiber on the Ras Qurayyah (Saudi Arabia) toward Jasra (Bahrain). Border of (Kuwait) – Al Fadhili (Saudi Arabia) OPGW Al Fadhili (Saudi Arabia) – Ghunan (Saudi Arabia) OPGW Ghunan (S.Arabia) – Ras Qurayyah (Saudi Arabia) OPGW Ras Qurayyah (Saudi Arabia) – Border of (Bahrain) Submarine and underground Ghunan (Saudi Arabia) – Salwa (Saudi Arabia) OPGW Salwa (Saudi Arabia) Border of (Qatar) OPGW Salwa (Saudi Arabia) – Border of (UAE) OPGW The locations of the GCCIA POPs and Fiber borders are indicated below: Al Fadhili (Saudi Arabia) 26°53'45.07"N 49°20'41.65"E Ghunan (Saudi Arabia) 26° 4'7.79"N 49°53'33.49"E Salwa (Saudi Arabia) 24°33'0.52"N 50°53'16.19"E RAQ (Saudi Arabia) 25°59'12.11"N 50° 6'4.64"E The location of the GCCIA fiber at the border are indicated below
Fibers. All fibers will be restored before securing the site. The SP will notify the SR when each fiber has been repaired, and then the SR will verify that continuity exists from end-to-end on the affected Cable(s) and/or fiber(s). Verification of continuity of Dark Fibers shall be the responsibility of the SP or SR depending on whoever has the capability to verify service. In the event of a second cable cut in this particular Route Section of fiber optic cable, the SR sequence will rotate such that SR "B" will be first priority, "C" second, "D" third, and "A" fourth. For every total cable cut, SP shall respond immediately after receiving notification with a goal of restoring SR's service-carrying Lit Fiber in six (6) hours from the time of the cable cut. The only exception to this response time is when an uncontrolled incident, such as a flood, a chemical spill, a fire, a bridge collapse, a riot, or other circumstance prevents access to the damage area. To accomplish this cable restoration, it is acknowledged that the repairs so effected may be temporary in nature. In such event, within twenty-four (24) hours after completion of all temporary Restoration activity, SP shall commence its planning for permanent repair, and thereafter promptly shall notify SR of such plans. If the SP informs the SR that the temporary fiber repair cannot be made permanent immediately, then the permanent repair shall be mutually agreed upon by both parties. The parties agree to mutually support each other during restoration activities. Examples of support may include providing fault locating, splicing, or running cable. All support is at the discretion of the SP - meaning that the SP shall have its restoration crew working on the restoration and may accept and direct the support from the SR if the SR offers such support. In the event the restoration cable is exposed above ground, the SP must provide on-site personnel for cable protection. Refer to Section 2.2 to accomplish permanent repairs.
Fibers a. Subject to the provisions of paragraph 3.b., hereof, SPC shall maintain the Cable in good and operable condition and shall repair the cable in workmanlike manner pursuant to Section 5 hereof.
b. SPC shall patrol the route of cable on a reasonable, routine basis and shall perform all required locates. SPC shall have qualified representatives on site at any time another company is crossing the cable or digging within four (4) feet of the cable or, if aerial, use attached escalation list to notify utility provider. SPC shall perform appropriate routine maintenance on the Cable in accordance with SPC's then current preventative maintenance. SPC's maintenance procedures shall not substantially deviate from industry practice.
Fibers. The fiber optic filaments contained in the Cable.
