This process covers the: • gathering of information about your existing financial arrangements and full personal circumstances. • understanding of your investment knowledge and attitude and tolerance towards investment risk. • recommendation of an asset allocation model that matches your risk profile and the subsequent assessment and suitability of any existing holdings. • preparation of our recommendations to you. • arranging a second appointment to explain and discuss our recommendations in detail. Our charge for this service is a fixed fee of £750 payable on provision of the report containing our recommendation(s) to you. This fee will be waived wholly or in part should you decide to implement any of our recommendations.

Distribution Technology is the UK's leading provider of financial planning and sales technology and has an excellent reputation for market-leading advice technology. Distribution Technology has appeared in the annual Tech Track Top 100 ratings in September 2009. Their tool allows us to analyse our clients' attitude to risk using a range of psychometric questionnaires, and providing clients with a view of the consequences of their decision through the production of expected gains and losses based upon clients' risk choices.

Financial Review and Recommendation. When you choose to appoint Pension Income Planning Ltd to act for you, our client agreement shows the process we will go through to ensure we deliver a professional, compliant and valuable service. We research the current position and consider your views to formulate our recommendations accordingly. If you were introduced to Pension Income Planning Ltd (PIP) by your own trusted adviser, we will work in partnership with your adviser. Pension Income Planning Ltd will carry out an independent analysis on the Safeguarded Defined Benefit scheme and will advise accordingly. All advice given in relation to a Safeguarded Defined Benefit scheme can only be provided by Pension Income Planning Ltd as the Pension Transfer Specialists (PTS) and only the recorded and written advice provided by Pension Income Planning Ltd directly should be considered when making any decision regarding safeguarded benefits. Your introducing adviser has agreed not to provide advice in this area. If your intention is to transfer any future value back to your own adviser for the on-going service, Pension Income Planning Ltd are comfortable with this action. We do not have that prior relationship with you, however we have explained that we can offer an on-going service on a limited basis and restricted to any funds transferred. Any appropriate recommendation will be based on a fund selection that Pension Income Planning Ltd believe are appropriate to provide the returns required to achieve your goals, after contract charges and in line with your attitude to risk. The investment strategy will have been agreed by you with your introducing adviser. We will have taken account the proposed destination of any transferred funds if the advice is for the transfer to proceed (COBS 19.1.2BR). This includes both the proposed scheme and the proposed investment. There are, of course, many other fund options available, some will perform better and some not so well as any portfolio we may have recommended. Your own introducing adviser will have a responsibility to ensure that any alternative funds recommended should be suitable and have the potential to provide returns on a par with the long-term needs highlighted in the recommendation report.
