Full-Time Faculty Workload. Time and service expected of a Full-time Faculty beyond classroom duty hours and customary professional meetings will be contained within a forty (40) hour week. Full-time Faculty will have a normal two-semester load within the academic year (fall and spring semesters) of at least thirty (30) equated hours, including a minimum load of twelve (12) equated hours each semester. Faculty members not able to meet the thirty (30) equated hour load during the fall and spring semesters may fulfill their workload requirements during the summer semester immediately following or through an alternative assignment.

Full-Time Faculty Workload. A full-time faculty member’s professional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: satisfying annual minimum instructional requirements and duties related to the delivery of instruction to students (developing, reviewing and revising curriculum and instructional materials, preparing for courses, grading papers and exams), maintaining minimum on-campus and posted office hours, participating in professional development activities, advising and assisting students with registration and coursework, attending various meetings, serving on committees as assigned, assisting at registration, participating in the College’s recruitment, retention and community service activities and other professional duties as assigned. Such College service responsibilities may not exceed forty-eight (48) hours per semester outside of regular office hours without corresponding reduction in regularly scheduled office hours. Where a faculty member asserts that any such assigned duty will conflict with another College responsibility, the administrator making the assignment shall discuss the concern with the faculty member before proceeding with the assignment. Where the College assigns such duties at times conflicting with office hours, the faculty member will not be required to reschedule the office hours affected. Nothing in this Article shall prevent a faculty member from volunteering service to the College beyond the limits set forth in this Article.
Full-Time Faculty Workload. ‌ Full-time faculty workload shall be assigned by the xxxx/supervisor in consultation with the faculty in the division. To the extent feasible, all full-time faculty will be assigned their contractual teaching load between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Should it not be possible to assign the regular contractual teaching load to a faculty member between these hours for any reason, the remainder of the load may be scheduled in the evening session or on Saturday. No more than five (5) consecutive days will be assigned during a week. A faculty member may not be assigned a Saturday class more than one (1) semester per academic year without his/her permission except when it is necessary to fill a full-time load. Other schedules may be made by mutual agreement between the faculty member and the appropriate xxxx. Conflicts may be appealed to the Vice President of Teaching, Learning and Student Development. However, the xxxx/supervisor, with the approval of the Vice President of Teaching, Learning and Student Development, maintains the discretion to assign courses or workload based on the interest of the College. Load shall be offered and then assigned according to 4.29 Load Assignment Protocol.
