Funeral Leave. Any employee in the bargaining unit shall be allowed to be absent from work to arrange for or to attend the funeral or any of the relatives of the employee hereinafter mentioned for the time hereinafter stated: (a) If the deceased relative was the husband, wife, child, father, mother, brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, or grandchild of the employee, the employee shall be permitted to be absent from work for a period not to exceed two (2) days. Funeral Leave. (c) A part-time employee who has been in the employ of the Employer for thirty (30) days or more and who actually attends the funeral of his father, mother, brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, or grandchild of the employee, the employee shall be permitted to be absent from work for a period not to exceed two (2) days. One of these days shall be the day of the funeral. If either or both of these days are scheduled working days, he shall be allowed pay for day(s) off during his regular working schedule.
(b) If the deceased relative was the father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law, grandmother-in-law or grandfather-in-law grandparent shall be paid at his straight time rate of pay for those hours he is normally scheduled for work on those days, not to exceed three (3), commencing no earlier than the date of death and ending no later than the day of the employee, the employee shall be permitted to be absent from work with pay for the purpose stated for one (1) scheduled working day if the funeral is held on a scheduled working day. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law will be interpreted as (i) the spouse of an employee's brother or sister; (ii) the brother or sister of an employee's spouse; or (iii) the spouse of an employee's spouse's brother or sisterfuneral.

C. In the event of a simultaneous tragedy affecting more than one of the covered relatives enumerated above, not more than three (3) normally scheduled workdays shall be excused with pay, and all such paid days shall be subject to the terms and conditions heretofore stated in this section.
D. In the event of death of an employee's aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, or brother or sister of a current spouse; one (1) day paid leave will be allowed subject to the terms and conditions heretofore stated in this section. Effective after this contract is executed by the parties in 2003, when death occurs of an employee’s sister-in-law or grandfatherbrother-in-law of law, the employee, on request, will be excused for any of the employee shall be permitted to be absent from work with pay for the purpose stated for one first two (12) normally scheduled working day if days immediately following the funeral is held on a scheduled working day. Should a death or burial in the immediate family occur in a city located more than one hundred fifty (150) miles from work for a period not to exceed Toledo, an additional two (2) days. One of these days for travel shall be granted and paid.
D. An employee may take one (l) or two (2) days to attend the funeral and reserve a day to attend to legal matters made necessary by the death, but such time provided herein shall be taken within one (l) week from the date of the burial. This benefit shall also be extended when the relative is a veteran who is being returned for burial.
X. Xxx (l) day of the funeral. If either or both of these days are scheduled working days, he funeral pay shall be allowed pay for day(s) off during his regular working schedule.
(b) If granted to attend the deceased relative was funeral of the employee's xxxxxx mother, xxxxxx father-in-law, motheraunt, uncle, first cousin, xxxxx, nephew, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law, grandmother-in-law or grandfather-in-law of the employee, if such funeral occurs on a regular work day and if such employee was scheduled to work that day.
F. Where a special filial relationship exists between the employee shall and any relative for whom the employee would normally be permitted to be absent from work with pay for grated the purpose stated for above one (1l) scheduled working day if funeral day, three (3) days funeral pay may be granted upon the funeral is held on a scheduled working day. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law will be interpreted as (i) the spouse furnishing of an employee's brother or sister; (ii) affidavit to the brother or sister of an employee's spouse; or (iii) Chief Deputy setting forth the spouse of an employee's spouse's brother or sisterfacts as to the special relationship.
(c) If, to attend the funeral for a deceased relative, the employee travels to a point more than 100 miles from El Dorado, Arkansas, he shall be allowed such leave for an additional day with pay. The pay for each day's leave which the employee receives under the provisions of this Article shall be a sum equal to straight-time for his regular schedule of work on the day involved. There shall be no duplication of payment under provisions of this Article for any other employee benefits such as: vacation pay, holiday pay, or sickness benefits payments.

(c) If, to attend the funeral for a the deceased relative, the employee travels to a point more than 100 miles from El Dorado, Arkansas, he shall be allowed such leave for an additional day with pay. The pay for each day's leave which the employee receives under the provisions of this Article shall be a sum equal to straight-straight time for his regular schedule of work on the day involved. There shall be no duplication of payment under provisions of this Article for any other employee benefits such as: as vacation pay, holiday pay, or sickness benefits payments. Funeral Leave. Example: Death occurred on Monday and if the employee is scheduled to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday that week the employee will receive funeral pay for Wednesday and Thursday only. An employee excused from work under this Section shall, after making written application, receive the amount of wages, exclusive of shift or any other premiums, that he/she would have earned by working during straight time hours on such scheduled days of work for which he/she was excused. Time thus paid will not be counted as hours worked for purposes of overtime. In the event of a simultaneous tragedy affecting more than one of the covered relatives enumerated above, not more than three (3) normally scheduled workdays shall be permitted excused with pay, and all such paid days shall be subject to be absent from work with pay for the purpose terms and conditions heretofore stated for in this section. In the event of death of an employee' s aunt, uncle, nephew, xxxxx, or brother or sister of a current spouse; one (1) scheduled working day if the funeral is held on a scheduled working day. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law paid leave will be interpreted allowed subject to the terms and conditions heretofore stated in this section. Other benefits shall continue to accrue and be paid as provided in this agreement while an employee is on funeral leave. Additional paid time may be granted for extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the Personnel Director. In the event of a death of a brother-in-law or grandfathersister-in-law in- law, grandparents or grandparent of a current spouse, two (2) days paid leave will be allowed subject to the terms and conditions heretofore stated in this section.
E. Other benefits shall continue to accrue and be paid as provided in this agreement when an employee is on funeral leave.
F. Additional paid time may be granted for extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the employee, the employee Judge. Total of all leave shall be permitted to be absent from work with pay for the purpose stated for one not exceed five (15) scheduled working day if the funeral is held on a scheduled working day. An employee shall be permitted to be absent from work with pay for the purpose stated for allowed an absence of one (1) scheduled working day with pay to attend the fu- neral of his or her aunt or uncle, not in the immediate family if funeral falls on the funeral is held on a scheduled working employee’s work day. Paras attending the funeral of others not in the immediate family and not living in the same household shall be granted ab- sence for the day of the funeral with no deduction in pay upon approval of the Director of Non-Teaching Personnel. Ap- plication must be submitted prior to the date of leave. This leave shall not be granted more than one (1) time during a school year for any individual. Leave, as stipulated above, shall be al- lowed on Friday for a deceased relativeSaturday funeral or Monday for a Sunday funeral of an aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, or nephew if the employee travels to a point fu- neral is more than 100 one hundred seventy- five (175) miles from El DoradoToledo. If a death or funeral of a member of the immediate family occurs more than one hundred seventy-five (175) miles from Toledo, Arkansas, he shall an absence of five (5) work days will be allowed such leave for an additional day with pay. This proof may be from a licensed funeral director, a clergyman, or a copy of a legal document which es- tablishes the relationship between the employee receives under and the provisions deceased.
