Health Safety and Wellness. Changes: Removed OSHA from the list of standards that must be followed. The Agency felt the National Fire Codes and National Building Code follow these standards. The National Health and Safety Committee will consist of 6 union members (each component represented) They will meet 2 times per year. Meetings will be held for 3 days, via technology, from 1-4pm EST. If the union requests a face to face meeting they will pay their own travel expenses. Each facility will be inspected at least 2 times per year. At the DOC, the second inspection will be a follow up that will be conducted within 90 days of the completion of the original inspection.
Health Safety and Wellness. 28.1 Both the Employer and the Employee shall comply with their obligations under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and any subsequent amendments. This includes the Employer taking all practicable steps to provide the Employee with a healthy and safe working environment. The Employee shall comply with all directions and instructions from the Employer regarding health and safety and shall also take all reasonable steps to ensure that in the performance of their employment they do not undermine their own health and safety or the health and safety of any other person.
Health Safety and Wellness. 23.01 The Employer and the Union recognize the benefits to be gained from a safe and healthy place of employment and agree that they shall cooperate in the promotion of safety practices in support of their joint goal of accident prevention and the elimination of health hazards.
Health Safety and Wellness. 31.01 The Employer and the Union shall cooperate to maintain standards of Occupational Health & Safety and accident prevention, in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
