Health and Safety Policies. The School’s policies including the Health and Safety Policy and Equal Rights Policy will be explained to the volunteers at the outset. The school has a Health and Safety Policy and this is made available to volunteers working in the school. An appropriate member of staff will ensure that volunteers are clear about emergency procedures (e.g. Fire Alarm Evacuation) and about any safety aspects associated with particular tasks (e.g. using D T equipment/accompanying pupils on visit). Volunteers need to exercise due care and attention and report any obvious hazards or concerns to the designated member of staff/Head Teacher. Volunteers are covered by Bradford Council Health and Safety Statement and Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance. The Volunteer The volunteer agrees to carry out all reasonable tasks assigned to him/her to the best of their ability and to generally promote the interests of the school and to abide by the terms and conditions set out in this policy and agreement.

Management will, to the extent feasible, provide safe and sanitary working conditions and equipment, in accordance with the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSHA). Management shall post legal notices informing employees of the protections and obligations provided for in the OSHA. b. The Parties may agree to meet annually to review a safety and health program and to make recommendations. This meeting may be combined with another national meeting as appropriate. Upon request, Management may provide the Union with available, relevant agency information on safe and health, in accordance with the Privacy Act. This does not preclude the Parties from addressing safety problems/health issues on a case by case basis. c. Management agrees to provide any special and/or unusual safety equipment or supplies (such as personal protective clothing or equipment and devices) necessary as identified in an approved Job Hazard Analysis or Risk Assessment. The Union may negotiate the type of safety equipment and safety supplies defined as a result of the Job Hazard Analysis for Risk Assessment. A Job Hazard Analysis or Risk Assessment will be reviewed at least annually. At the time of the employee’s request, the Job Hazard Analysis or Risk Assessment will be reviewed between the employee and their supervisor. The Job Hazard Analysis or Risk Assessment shall be recorded on the appropriate Forest Service form. A copy will be provided to the employee and/or the Union upon request. d. Management agrees to provide adequate sanitary facilities, water, and indoor environmental conditions (including lighting; heating; relative humidity; ventilation; air quality; and absence of pests, airborne pathogens, and irritants) in work areas in accordance with laws and regulations (e.g. OSHA and consensus of organizations such as NEPA). If it is determined that sanitary facilities, water, indoor environmental conditions, and/or space are not adequate to protect the health and safety of an employee in any work area, corrective action will be taken to the extent feasible. In facilities not controlled by the Forest Service, such corrective action will be requested.
Health and Safety Policies. (1) The State School Code will be followed. (2) The Board will pay the cost of all required medical examinations, provided a Board-designated physician is used. (3) Teacher's lounges shall be clean and comfortable and every effort shall be exerted to make such a lounge as attractive as possible. For example, exhaust fans shall be provided. Health and Safety Policies. A. The EMPLOYER will exert every reasonable effort to provide safe and sanitary working and environmental conditions and equipment. Safety equipment and protective clothing will be furnished to EMPLOYEES; The EMPLOYEE will be responsible for proper care and maintenance, under normal usage, of all safety equipment issued to the EMPLOYEE. B. The UNION or an EMPLOYEE or group of EMPLOYEES who believe(s) that work is being required under conditions which are unsafe or unhealthy beyond the normal hazards inherent in the operations in question may request a recommendation from the Safety Officer and/or have the right to file a grievance. If an EMPLOYEE thinks that commencing or continuing a work operation will result in imminent physical harm and the EMPLOYEE'S immediate supervisor is not available, the EMPLOYEE may contact higher level supervisors, up to and including the EMPLOYER, to request permission to not start or to discontinue the operation. This right includes the right of the EMPLOYEE to decline to perform his or her assigned task because of a reasonable belief that, under the circumstances, the task poses an imminent risk of death or serious bodily harm coupled with a reasonable belief that there is insufficient time to seek effective redress through normal hazard reporting and abatement procedures. C. The EMPLOYER will investigate and take needed steps or try to xxxxx within a reasonable time all recognized safety or health hazards that are reported by EMPLOYEES or found in inspections.
