Holiday on Scheduled Workday. ‌ Full-time employees required to work the above holidays will be paid one and one-half (1½) times their normal rate of pay, plus their regular eight (8) hours of pay for the holiday.

Holiday on Scheduled Workday. Employees who are required to work on their observed holiday shall be granted, at the employee's option, either a workday of leave or shall be paid for the time worked in accordance with the rules governing over- time. Holiday time must be taken within ninety (90) calendar days of the holiday or the day designated by the City as a holiday. If time is not taken within the 90 calendar day period it will be paid to the employee.

If staffing permits, Zookeepers will be encouraged and permitted to take another day off during a week that includes a single holiday. Vacation periods shall be unbroken unless by mutual consent between Employer and employee, or where it is impractical. Grievances relating to this Section shall be subject to the Adjustment and Arbitration Procedure in this Agreement.
