HOUR SHIFTS, WORK SCHEDULES AND OVERTIME. If an employee is required to work in excess of an eight (8) hour shift, or in excess of eighty (80) hours in any two (2) week pay period, the employee shall be paid over-time at the rate of time and one-half (1½) straight-time pay. If an employee is required to work in excess of twelve consecutive hours in any one day, the employee shall be paid overtime at the rate of double time his/her regular straight-time hourly rate for hours worked in excess of twelve (12) in that day, exclusive of meal periods. The Hospital will make its best efforts to schedule two (2) consecutive days off a week for all employees covered by this Agreement. Also, whenever the Hospital deems it practical and possible in light of Hospital requirements, the Hospital may institute a schedule of work six (6) days in one

  • NORMAL WORK SCHEDULES 112. Unless otherwise provided in this Agreement, a “normal work day” is a tour of duty of eight (8) hours completed within not more than nine (9) hours. The normal work week for employees covered by this agreement is 40 hours.

  • Work Schedules Workweeks and work shifts of different numbers of hours may be established by the Employer in order to meet business and customer service needs, as long as the work schedules meet federal and state laws.

Department management will establish the work week and hours of work best suited to meet the needs of the Department and provide superior service to the community. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed as a guarantee or limitation of the number of hours to be worked per week.
