Hours - Day Work. Unless otherwise determined by agreement in accordance with clause 33, Workplace Consultation, the following provisions shall apply: (a) ORDINARY HOURS OF WORK: (i) Except as provided elsewhere in this clause, ordinary working hours shall not exceed an average of 38 per week to be worked between 6.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m., Monday to Friday on one of the following basis: (1) 38 hours within a work cycle of one week (2) 76 hours within a work cycle of two weeks (3) 114 hours within a work cycle of three weeks (4) 152 hours within a work cycle of four weeks Different methods of implementation of a 38-hour week may apply to various groups or sections of employees in the establishment concerned. (ii) In the absence of agreement the ordinary working hours are not to exceed eight on any day. (iii) Where agreement exists between the employer and the employee or between the employer and the majority of employees concerned, the ordinary hours of work can be worked at any time on any day of the week, Saturday and Sunday inclusive. (b) RATE FOR ORDINARY HOURS ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY Ordinary hours of work performed on a Saturday shall be paid for at time and one half and on a Sunday at double time.

An employee shall not be required to work for more than five ordinary hours without a meal break unless otherwise agreed, provided that the time of taking a meal break for a particular day may be varied to meet the needs of the establishment. If a meal break is not given within six hours an employee shall be paid at time and one half rates until a meal break is allowed. (d) Notice of rostered days off - In cases where, by virtue of the arrangement of the ordinary hours of work, an employee is entitled to a rostered day off during the work cycle, such employee shall be advised by the employer at least four weeks in advance of the day to be taken off by written notice posted by the employer on the notice board. (e) Banking rostered days off - By agreement between the employer and an employee or between an employer and the majority of employees concerned, rostered days off may be accumulated (banked) and shall be entitled to be taken in a manner agreed upon between the employer and the employee.   • Day Work The Company shall structure the Project Working Hours to include one (1) half-hour rest break to be taken without deduction of pay by Employees working the Project Working Hours on any day (Monday to Saturday inclusive).

  • Hours Worked For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, all time during which an employee is in paid status shall be construed as hours worked.

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Holiday Work Employees who work on a holiday shall receive one and one-half (1-1/2) times their straight time regular rate of pay for all hours actually worked on the holiday, plus holiday pay.

  • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.

  • Weekend Work (1) All ordinary hours of work performed between midnight on Friday and midnight on Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half.

  • Normal Hours of Work 10A.01 The normal work day is defined as the twenty-four (24) hour period beginning at 12:00 Midnight. 10A.02 The employer has the option of working either five (5) eight (8) hour days or four (4) ten

  • DAYS AND HOURS OF WORK The standard workweek for workers occupying full-time positions consists of 40 hours unless otherwise specified by the Board of Supervisors. The appointing authority shall fix the hours of work with due regard for the convenience of the public and the laws of the State and the County. Workers occupying part-time positions shall work such hours and schedules as the Board and the appointing authority shall prescribe.
