Job Title Seniority. Each classification includes at least one (1) job title. Job title seniority means work under a job title. An employee with the necessary skills, abilities and qualifications to work in another job title in the same classification may bump a less senior junior employee in cases where the employee would otherwise be subject to layoff. Job Title Seniority. Job Title Seniority shall mean an employee’s continuous length of full- time or part-time service calculated from (1) the employee’s most recent date of hire within a Job Title or, (2) if the employee has been an employee of a facility acquired by SRH, from the most recent date of hire by the facility before the acquisition of the facility in the same or comparable Job Title as solely determined by SRH or (3) if the employee has been in a Job Title and, without interruption, is promoted to a Lead in the same Job Title. Job Title Seniority will include the employee’s years of service in both Job Titles. Job Title Seniority will be calculated by how many completed years have passed since the employee’s date of hire in that Job Title date. Job Title Seniority will be utilized as provided for in the terms of this Agreement.

Further, the list shall have no other force or effect on local collective agreements other than those that may already exist for casual/temporary employees in the 2008-12 local collective agreement.

  • Role of Seniority A reduction in force shall be based on seniority within a department, discipline or specialty, provided that the senior staff have appropriate qualifications and are providing satisfactory service. Whenever possible, an employee shall be given an opportunity to serve the College in some other capacity for which he/she is qualified. This clause applies to all employees, including those on leave at time of reduction of staff.

  • State Seniority State Seniority" is defined as the length of employment with the State of Minnesota since the last date of hire.
