LEAVE, HOLIDAY. (2015) The following holidays shall be recognized and observed and paid as holidays: New Year's Day Columbus Day Xxxxxx X. Xxxx'x Birthday Floating Holiday(see * below) President's Day Veterans' Day Patriot's Day Thanksgiving Day Memorial Day Friday after Thanksgiving Independence Day Christmas Day Labor Day Any additional days declared by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court or designee. Any holiday falling on a Saturday shall be observed on the preceding Friday. Any holiday falling on a Sunday shall be observed on the succeeding Monday. Holiday pay for employees in part-time status shall be prorated based on authorized hours. The employees will be offered additional hours within the same pay period, not to exceed forty (40) hours per week, to make up for any income that may be lost due to the prorated holiday falling on a normal workday. However, the employee shall not be required to work the additional time. * The "floating holiday" must be taken provided that the employee gives a one (1) week notice in advance of taking the holiday and permission is granted. The "floating holiday" shall not accrue from fiscal year to fiscal year unless it cannot be taken based upon operational needs.

Any holiday falling on a Saturday shall be observed on the preceding Friday. Any holiday falling on a Sunday shall be observed on the succeeding Monday. Holiday pay for employees in part-time status shall be prorated based on authorized hours. The employees will be offered additional hours within the same pay period, not to exceed 40 hours per week, to make up for any income that may be lost due to the prorated holiday falling on a normal workday. However, the employee shall not be required to work the additional time. Part-time employees authorized to work fewer than twenty (20) hours per week shall not be eligible for holiday pay. Part-time employees authorized to work fewer than twenty (20) hours per week, who are hired into such position on or before June 30, 2017, will continue to receive holiday pay on a pro-rated basis. Should an employee actually work on a holiday as a result of operational needs, the employee shall be entitled to “Holiday Worked” pay equivalent to one and one-half (1 ½) times the regular hourly rate of pay for actual time worked on that day. Such time will be paid in addition to the eight (8) hours of straight Holiday pay.

  • Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day (December 25) Boxing Day (December 26) In addition to the above noted holidays, full-time employees will be eligible for two (2) floating holidays. The float holiday will be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time prior to the end of the calendar year.

  • Public Holiday 6.1 The Worker shall be entitled to public holidays in accordance with the labour laws in Malaysia.

  • Statutory Holiday All time worked on such Statutory Holidays as are provided for in this Agreement shall be considered as overtime and shall be paid at two hundred percent (200%) of the employee's regular straight-time rate, or the employee may elect to be paid straight-time rates for the overtime hours and take an equal number of hours as time off. Such time off must be taken according to a schedule acceptable to the employee's Supervisor within thirty (30) days of the end of the pay period in which the overtime was worked.

  • Religious Holiday Leave An employee may use two (2) sick days for religious observances if he/she has no personal business leave days. When an employee requests the use of this leave for days not known to be a religious holiday, the Board may request documentation.

  • Holiday 6.1 The Executive shall be entitled during the Employment to 30 working days holiday in each calendar year plus bank holidays. Holiday may only be taken at such time or times as the Chief Executive Officer shall approve. The Executive’s holiday entitlement shall be pro rated for the year in which the Employment begins and for the year in which the Employment ends.

  • Work on a Paid Holiday A) Regular Employee

  • Holiday Week In the event that a holiday is celebrated during the week (Monday through Friday), the remaining four days of the week may be worked as a four ten shift at the straight time rate on a voluntary basis with three (3) days’ notice to the Union. In the event the job is down due to weather conditions, then Saturday may, at the option of the Employer be worked as a voluntary make-up day at the straight time rate.

  • Holiday Leave Holiday leave provisions shall be as noted below:

  • Paid Holiday Bank Employees qualify in accordance with the collective agreement. The paid holidays are identified in the Collective Agreement. Credit to the paid holiday bank will occur on the date of the holiday. Drawing from the paid holiday bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours paid for every hour taken (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid).

  • Special Holidays A Special Holiday is a holiday declared a holiday by the University for its employees other than a Saturday, Sunday, General (Statutory) Holiday or day declared by the University to be in lieu of a Statutory Holiday. The rate of pay for the Special Holiday shall be that which the employee would have received if she/he had worked.
