Leave to Attend Meetings a. The Employer shall grant paid leave (at ordinary rates) to midwives required to attend formal meetings of the New Zealand Midwifery Council, except where the matter arises out of employment with another employer. This includes attendance as a reviewer in the standards review process.

Leave to Attend Meetings. The Employer shall grant paid leave (at ordinary rates T1) to employees required to attend formal meetings of any statutory registration body that the employee is required to be certified by in order to undertake their contracted duties; except where the matter arises out of employment with another employer. Paid leave shall also be granted where an Employee is required to attend meetings of Boards or Statutory Committees provided that the appointment to the Board or Committee is by ministerial appointment. Any remuneration received by the Employee for the period that paid leave was granted shall be paid to the Employer. Payment of Wages Employees will be paid fortnightly or weekly in arrears by direct credit. Where errors have occurred as a result of employer action or inaction, corrective payment must be made within one working day of the error being brought to the employer’s attention. Where an employee has taken leave in advance of it becoming due, and the employee leaves before the entitlement has accrued, the employer will deduct the amount owing in excess of entitlement from the employee’s final pay. Any monies agreed, as being owed by the employee to the employer upon termination will be deducted from the employee’s final pay. The employees shall complete timesheets as required by the employer. Wherever practicable any disputed items shall not be changed without first referring it to the affected employee. Overpayment Recovery Procedures: Attention is drawn to the Wages Protection Act 1983. The provisions of this Act, or any amendment or Act passed in substitution for this Act, shall apply. The employer shall use its best endeavours to direct credit payment of wages into the employee’s bank account one clear day prior to a public holiday.
