Union Functions. Upon written request to the Employer, an Employee elected or appointed to represent the Union at conventions or meetings of the Union and its affiliates shall be allowed leave of absence without pay and without loss of benefits in order to attend the convention or meeting. No more than two Employees shall be entitled to request such leave at the same time.
Union Functions. The City will allow the Union one hundred sixty (160) hours of unpaid leave per year for Union representatives to attend Union functions other than those listed above so long as their absence does not hamper the normal operations of the departments. When such time off is requested, notice of no less than ten (10) regular business days will be required. Requests will be in writing to the employee’s immediate supervisor on the department’s leave request form and the supervisor shall consult with Human Resources prior to approving or denying the request. Unpaid leave shall be coded as such time on their time sheet.
Union Functions. This is to confirm our discussions during bargaining for the renewal of the Collective Agreement for the Ontario Airports regarding the Unit Chairpersons carrying out their trade Union functions under the collective agreements during their scheduled working hours. The Employer will continue its practice of allowing the Unit Chairperson time during working hours to perform their Union functions and at each airport at least (1) hour per week during their regular scheduled hours without loss of pay, at times mutually agreed to between the Employer and the Unit Chairperson.
Union Functions. Union Representatives shall have reasonable access to the Store in order to investigate and/or submit grievances on occasion and/or meet with Managers and/or employees in order to discuss Labour Relations issues and/or ensure that the terms of this Agreement are being met. Meetings between the Union Representatives and employees must first be approved by the Store Manager or their designate.
Union Functions. (a) Upon written request to the Department General Manager, three (3) weeks in advance, an employee elected or appointed to represent the Union at C.U.P.E. or its affiliate conventions or conferences shall be allowed leave of absence without loss of seniority provided such Union leave does not disrupt the operation of the Department involved.
(b) An employee shall continue to receive his regular pay and benefits while on such leave. The Employer will deduct this amount from the monthly Union deductions.
Union Functions. During each calendar year, 40 hours of paid time will be granted to the bargaining unit as a whole for one or more of its members to attend Union functions. The Chapter Chair or Union Representative will inform the Administration as to who has authorization to use these hours.
Union Functions. The Branch Local President and/or a Union Xxxxxxx may request an unpaid leave of absence to attend Union functions with at least 2 weeks’ notice. Such requests will not be unreasonably denied. There is a maximum of 4 days of such absence per Union Xxxxxxx per calendar year and no more than 2 absences per designated work area at any one time. The Union may arrange that a Union Xxxxxxx on such leave will be paid by the Employer for any of the time for which they were otherwise scheduled to work and the Union will reimburse the Employer for the wages so paid.
Union Functions. All delegates so designated by the Union to attend Union affairs shall be allowed time off without pay to attend such affairs provided proper notification is given. Custodial/Maintenance employees shall be represented by a Unit President and two (2) stewards. There shall be a limitation of one (1) person per building.
Union Functions. Upon applications submitted at least ten (10) working days in advance, members of the bargaining unit may be granted, upon the Employer's approval, unpaid leave of absence equivalent to a maximum in the aggregate of thirty (30) working days per calendar year for the entire Bargaining Unit to represent the Union at conventions, executive and committee meetings, or workshops. Such leave will be without loss of benefits, seniority or wages, which will be invoiced to and paid by the union.

6.02 Any employee appointed to a permanent position within the Union shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence of up to twelve (12) months’ duration provided he or she gives fifteen (15) days written notice. An employee must give the Employer fifteen (15) days advance notice of the date he or she intends to return to his or her position. Employees returning to work shall resume their prior position as if they had never left. If the position no longer exists, an employee may exercise his or her rights under this Agreement. During such an unpaid leave of absence, if the Union and the employee request it in writing the Employer shall maintain the employee benefits provided for in thisAgreement. The Employer shall submit to the Union a detailed reimbursement request for the expenses thus incurred and the Union must reimburse them.
6.03 One (1) employee chosen by the Union shall be given a leave of absence to attend Union activities of short duration (courses, meetings, etc.). Such a leave of absence shall be subject to the following conditions:
(a) The Union shall make its request at least fifteen (15) days before the start of the desired leave of absence.
(b) The Employer is not obliged to grant such a leave of absence during the period from December 1st to January 10th and from the third (3rd) Monday in June to the second (2nd) Monday in September.
(c) The Employer is not obliged to grant a total of more than fifteen (15) such days per calendar year.
(d) During such a leave of absence, employees shall continue to enjoy all the rights and privileges set out in this Agreement and receive their regular salary as if they were still at work. However, within thirty (30) days of receiving the xxxx, the Union must reimburse the Employer for all of the expenses involved in ensuring that the employee continues to receive a salary and fringe benefits. Employees returning to work shall resume their prior position as if they had never left.
