PARAMEDIC PRECEPTORS. Those employees designated by the Department and/or medical director as a paramedic preceptor will receive additional compensation in the amount of five percent (5%) of that employee’s regular hourly compensation during periods when they are actually precepting.

PARAMEDIC PRECEPTORS. The City shall establish a Paramedic Preceptor program to provide a mentoring relationship between a paramedic student and established firefighter/paramedics. The Preceptor is to provide to the student the assistance necessary to develop the knowledge and skills to the level at which the student is capable of operating as a Paramedic in the St. Xxxxxxx EMS System.
PARAMEDIC PRECEPTORS. Paramedic preceptors shall be selected by the Medical Director and the Fire Chief and shall serve at their sole discretion. Decisions regarding selection of Preceptors shall not be subject to the grievance procedure. Paramedics acting as Preceptors shall be paid a stipend of $250 per year, to be paid in the last quarter of the year together with the clothing allowance. If some Preceptor duties were performed during the year, but not for the entire year, the Preceptor stipend shall be prorated on a quarterly basis.
PARAMEDIC PRECEPTORS. (Award 2013-2017) Effective January 1, 2015, fire service paramedics shall receive out of class pay for all hours worked when assigned to serve as a preceptor. The Fire Department shall seek volunteers to serve as preceptors and will mandate any fire service paramedic to serve as a preceptor only if becomes necessary. In the unlikely event that it becomes necessary to mandate a paramedic to serve as a preceptor, the assignment will be made by reverse seniority.
