Parental Leave Entitlements Following Miscarriage or Still-Birth. 40.6.1 An Employee who is a Birth Mother whose pregnancy, having proceeded for a period of not less than 20 weeks, terminates by miscarriage or results in a still-born child will be entitled to: paid leave of four weeks; and such leave without pay as will bring the aggregate leave to a continuous period not exceeding six calendar months or to such longer period as may be certified by a Medical Practitioner, up to a maximum of 12 calendar months.

Parental leave may be extended for an additional six (6) months upon application to and approval by the President/designee.

  • Maternity/Adoption/Parental Leave a) In accordance with the Saskatchewan Employment Act an employee shall be granted maternity, adoption, and/or parental leave of absence without pay.
