Health and Safety Representative Allowance. 37.1 An employee who has recognised responsibilities as a Health and Safety Representative or a Health and Safety Co-ordinator will be paid an annual allowance, paid fortnightly of $583 (and $595 from 21 June 2012, $601 from 3 January 2013, and $613 from 20 June 2013). This allowance will only be paid to employees who have successfully completed a recognised training program approved by the ATO. 37.2 This allowance will be paid during periods of paid leave falling within the period that the employee continues to have recognised responsibilities as a Health and Safety Representative or a Health and Safety Co-ordinator.

Employees appointed under the current Library Health and Safety Management Arrangements (or any future workplace safety arrangements), and upon completion of training (accredited by the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1991): $25.00 per fortnight.

Health and Safety Representative Allowance. (1) Health and Safety Representatives (HSR), elected by their workgroup, will be entitled to an allowance of $11 per week such that: (a) The allowance will be paid pro rata where an HSR performs HSR duties on a shift or daily basis: (i) The minimum payment will be one day’s allowance, consisting of $2.20 per day up to $11.00 per week. (b) Where an HSR is on leave they shall not be entitled to the allowance, the duly elected Deputy Health and Safety Representative, if any, will be entitled to payment of this allowance.
