Parental Leave – General. (a) An employee who becomes a parent of a child is eligible to take a Parental Leave in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, except as amended by this Agreement.
Parental Leave – General. Definitions: Standard Parental Leave: a leave of absence from work of up to 35 weeks if the employee took Pregnancy Leave or up to 37 weeks if the employee did not take Pregnancy Leave.
Parental Leave – General. Six weeks (30 days) of parental leave shall be provided to an employee who occupies a permanent full-time position for the purposes of birth and/or adjustment to the introduction of a child into the employee's home (including adoption or placement prior to adoption). The Office of Human Resources must receive the parental leave request forms prior to the birth or placement of the child.

Parental leave must be taken as one continuous period of leave. An employee who intends to request parental leave shall make every reasonable effort to provide four (4) weeks notice to the employer.
