Payment of Accrued Sick Leave. Accrued sick leave will be paid to a former PSEM law enforcement officers under the following conditions: a) An Officer who retires under both the City of Austin Employees Retirement System and the Austin Police Retirement System, will be paid for all accrued sick leave in accordance with the provisions of Article 9 of this AGREEMENT, except that the 12-year service requirement shall not apply. b) An Officer who was hired by the City of Austin prior to October 1, 1986, who separates from the City for any reason other than retirement will be paid for a maximum of 720 hours of accrued sick leave. c) An Officer who was hired after October 1, 1986, who separates from the CITY after the effective date of this Article for any reason other than retirement will be paid for accrued sick leave in accordance with Article 9 of this Agreement, but years of service with PSEM will not be counted as years of service with APD for purposes of the 12-year service requirement.

Payment of Accrued Sick Leave. Effective January 1, 2009, any represented employee in good standing with at least five (5) years of regular employment with the City may cash out up to 40 hours per year of sick leave for 50% of its value at the employee’s current hourly wage if their remaining sick leave balance is over 100 hours. For the purpose of sick leave payout, hourly wage will be calculated by dividing the current monthly wage by 173.3333.

That employee could cash out 40 hours at 50% of their current hourly wage receiving $500.00 taxable income and would retain a balance of 100 hours of sick leave. In 2009, Employees in good standing with seven (7) or more years of regular employment with the City may cash out up to 80 hours for 75% of its value at their current hourly wage as long as their sick leave balance remains over 100 hours. Donated leave will not be eligible for use in this provision.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.

  • Sick Leave Benefits Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. A Nurse who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave shall only be entitled to sick leave pay if the Nurse is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, and providing the Nurse has sufficient sick leave credits.

  • Accrued Compensation On any termination of the Executive’s employment with the Company Group, the Executive will be entitled to receive all accrued but unpaid vacation, expense reimbursements, wages, and other benefits due to the Executive under any Company-provided plans, policies, and arrangements.

  • Sick Leave Bonus ‌ For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • Sick Leave Accrual All eligible employees shall accrue sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per pay period of continuous employment beginning with their date of eligibility. Eligible employees being paid for less than a full eighty (80) hour pay period shall have sick leave accruals pro-rated in accord with the schedule set forth in Appendix D.

  • Sick Leave Entitlement A permanent full-time employee shall earn paid sick leave at the rate of one and one-half (1½) days per month. Sick leave shall accumulate to a total of eighty-five (85) working days. Permanent part-time employees shall be entitled to sick leave on a pro-rata basis.

  • Accumulated Sick Leave ‌ The Employer shall inform all employees at least once each year of the number of sick days accumulated and shall make the information available to an employee on request.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.

  • Deductions from Sick Leave A deduction shall be made from accumulated sick leave of all normal working days (exclusive of holidays) absent for sick leave.

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.
