Periods of absence without pay that count as service An employee’s absence without pay from employment is counted as service only if: ▪ the absence is as sick leave for no more than three (3) months; or ▪ the employee is paid for the absence under the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 as amended from time to time for an injury sustained by the employee; or ▪ the absence is for leave, other than sick leave, of no more than two (2) weeks granted by Ergon Energy; or ▪ Ergon Energy has approved the inclusion of the period of the absence in the employee’s period of service for this part; or ▪ the employee is a casual employee and clause 10.6.3 applies.

  • Paid Leaves of Absence Paid leaves of absences granted under this Article shall not exceed the employee's normal work schedule.

  • LEAVES OF ABSENCE Article 11 applies for both paid and unpaid leaves. For the purposes of an unpaid 11.25 hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 14.05 hours. For the purposes of an unpaid 7.5 hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 9.375 hours.
