Unless a transfer is made for a specifically identified operating need under 9 Section 2, paragraph A above, or as provided in paragraph F below, 10 whenever the City desires to permanently fill a new position or vacancy 11 within the bargaining unit, notice will be made by teletype and/or Daily 12 Bulletin, and posted to inform members for a period of ten (10) calendar 13 days.

Posting of New Positions and Vacancies. Whenever the NFTA desires to permanently fill a new position or vacancy within the Police Department to include promotional positions, notice will be made by bulletin board and posted to inform Association members of its availability and to remain posted for a period of fourteen (14) calendar days. All announcements of new positions or vacancies will specify the qualifications and criteria established for the position or vacancy by the Chief of Police. Members may apply for consideration for a new position or vacancy posted under this Section only during the fourteen (14) day posting period. No new position or vacancy may be filled during the fourteen (14) day posting period except on an acting basis when necessary as a result of an emergency or to replace a transferred or promoted Association member.   • VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS 17.01 The Gallery shall post notice of permanent and temporary job vacancies subject to Article 4 – Temporary Full-Time Employees for a period of seven (7) calendar days before any such job is filled. Probationary employees shall not be entitled to apply for posted vacancies. It is agreed that the Gallery will not interview external applicants until applications from existing employees have been reviewed and bargaining unit employees who are qualified in the opinion of the Gallery have been interviewed. Further, the Gallery will notify existing applicants in writing once the successful application is selected.
