Common use of PREGNANCY/PARENTAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE Clause in Contracts

PREGNANCY/PARENTAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE. a) The Board shall grant to each eligible teacher, a pregnancy and/or parental leave in accordance with the Employment Standards Act provided the teacher is eligible for the said leave under the Employment Standards Act. b) The Board shall append to this collective agreement a copy of the relevant sections of the Employment Standards Act setting out the above leaves. (Appendix "D") c) The returning teacher shall be given a position in the same school subject to redundancy procedures and surplus to school procedures.
