PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND LEAVE. 23 Section 15.1 24 Certificated employees need opportunities for the development of increased competence beyond that which 25 they may attain through the performance of their assigned duties. In light of their impact upon the lives of 26 students and in keeping with the breadth of experience and training which they possess, opportunities need 27 to be especially rich and varied. These opportunities include such activities as visits to other classrooms 28 and other schools, conferences involving other personnel from the District, county, state, region or nation;
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND LEAVE. Section 18.1. Certificated employees need opportunities for the development of increased competence beyond that which they may attain through the performance of their assigned duties. In light of their impact upon the lives of students and in keeping with the breadth of experience and training which they possess, opportunities need to be especially rich and varied. These opportunities include such activities as visits to other classrooms and other schools, conferences involving other personnel from the District, county, state, region or nation; membership on committees, training in classes and workshops offered within the District; released time and leaves of absence for travel and study; and further training in institutions of higher learning. The District shall encourage such activities.

  • Professional Growth Plan A written plan, self-directed or jointly developed between the teacher and evaluator, designed for the sole purpose of continuing teacher growth focused on areas identified in the teacher’s observations and/or evaluation.   • Professional Growth Professional growth is the continuous purposeful engagement in study and related activities designed to retain and extend the high standards of classified unit members.

Professional Growth is an organized activity designed to improve performance of employees in the classified service and to provide training for employees to gain new skills and abilities, to broaden their opportunity for promotion, to engage in study and related activities designed to retain and extend the high standards of the classified employee.

  • Maternity and Parental Leave Employees are eligible for unpaid leave of absence from employment subject to the conditions in this article. Every employee who intends to take a leave of absence under this article will give at least four weeks' notice in writing to the Employer unless there is a valid reason why such notice cannot be given and will inform the Employer in writing of the length of leave intended to be taken. Each employee who wishes to change the effective date of approved leave will give four weeks' notice of such change unless there is a valid reason why such notice cannot be given.
