Qualified Leave Reasons. Employees meeting the FMLA eligibility criteria listed above may take leave under the FMLA for the following reasons: • The birth and care of the employee’s child; • Placement with the employee of a child for adoption or xxxxxx care; • The employee’s own serious health condition; or • To care for the employee’s spouse, child, or parent with a serious health condition; or • Due to a qualifying exigency under federal law that arises from the employee’s spouse, child or parent being on military active duty (or being notified of a call or order to active duty) in support of a contingency operation. Leave for the birth and care, or placement and care of a child must conclude within 12 months of the birth or placement of the child. The FMLA applies equally to male and female employees.   • Maternity Disability Leave 14.1.13.1 This leave commences with the onset of disablement due to pregnancy. The employee may claim sick leave pay and/or extended disability pay for no more than that limited period of time when the employee’s physician certified in writing on the form provided by the District that she was actually physically disabled from performing her duties because of pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, or recovery there from.

  • Pregnancy Disability Leave A. Leave for pregnancy or childbirth related disability is in addition to any leave granted under FMLA or WFLA.

  • Duty Disability (1) For Calendar Year 2018, 2019, and 2020 Depending on the individual's single/family enrollment status, the cost of coverage for individuals receiving a duty disability retirement allowance shall be as provided in subsection 3.a.(1) of this Article, above.

  • Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL) - An employee is eligible for continuation of MPS in accordance with applicable law.

  • Extended Disability Leave a. Due to a medical disability, an employee shall be granted an extended leave of absence without pay (subject to Paragraph d hereof) if any one of the following conditions exists:

  • Total Disability (a) Total disability, as used in this Plan, means the complete inability because of an accident or sickness of a covered employee to perform all the duties of his/her own occupation for the first two (2) years of disability. Thereafter, employees able by reason of education, training or experience to perform the duties of a gainful occupation for which the rate of pay is not less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the current rate of pay of their regular occupation at date of disability will not be considered totally disabled and will therefore not be eligible for benefits under this Long Term Disability Plan.

  • Disability Leave of Absence Section 37.1 Leave Without Pay A member incurring any disability not duty-connected after he has exhausted all of the paid leave to which he is entitled and has accumulated, may be granted a leave without pay for a period not to exceed three (3) months, subject to approval and to the following provisions:
