REGULATIONS AND WORKING CONDITIONS. Section 1A: Placement of New Hires/Probationary Employees IPS has the discretion to place newly hired employees on the salary table at any step. An employee shall be probationary for the first three (3) months the employee actually works for the Board during which time the employee is not covered by any of the terms of this Agreement. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the employee's seniority shall be determined from actual date of hire. Break periods in the school schedule of two (2) weeks or more will not be counted as part of the probationary period. Those on-call employees in the transportation department who are currently working and who have actually worked at least three hundred (300) hours or ninety (90) days immediately prior to being employed as regular employees shall be probationary employees, but shall be paid at Step One of the salary schedule. The Board and the Union may, by mutual agreement in writing, extend the probationary period.

  • Safe Working Conditions The Employer undertakes to maintain office furniture, equipment, etc., in a practical and safe condition in order to avoid injury to employees or damage to their attire. Employees, for their part and in their own interest, are expected to advise the Employer of any such potentially injurious equipment.

  • GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS The District has empowered school communities to make decisions at the school level in return for accountability for results. To maximize the likelihood of success, each school must be permitted to implement programs that meet the needs of its students and community. Through a school-based decision-making process, each school will define the staff working conditions necessary for student success. School leadership teams will create and publish annual “school operational plans” which will outline working conditions of staff in the building. Such operational plans will be subject to the Superintendent’s review and approval.

  • WORKING CONDITIONS 10.01 The Union will co-operate with the Employer in maintaining good working conditions.
