Rest Period/Lunch Break. The employee’s work day shall be divided to provide for two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest periods with pay during the first half and second half of each work day. Further, employees shall be allowed a lunch break without pay of not less than thirty (30) minutes. Part-Time employees who work a shift that is less than three (3) hours in duration over a twenty-four (24) hour period from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. shall not be provided with a rest period. In circumstances where it is deemed necessary for an employee to work through any rest period/lunch break, and authorization from a designated Board official, has been obtained prior to such event, the employee shall have the option of equal time off at the regular rate of pay at a time mutually agreed upon between the employee and Board designated official or monetary compensation at the regular rate of pay.

Rest Period/Lunch Break. ‌ i. Employees shall be provided with a paid fifteen (15) minute rest period for each three and three quarter (3 3/4) hours of work. Such breaks shall be scheduled at the discretion of the Supervisor. Breaks may be combined, or otherwise modified, with the agreement of the employee(s) involved. ii. Employees shall be provided with a one-half hour (½) unpaid lunch period in each shift of five (5) hours or more, scheduled at the discretion of the supervisor. Where an employee's lunch period is interrupted every attempt will be made to reschedule such missed time, but in the event, it cannot be rescheduled the employee shall receive pay in the amount of one- and one-half times their regular rate of pay for the missed time.

The rest period is to be taken approximately midway in the work period. Such breaks are to be scheduled by the employee's supervisor. 2.   • Rest Period During each normal work day, Saturdays, Sundays, and shift work, employees will be entitled to two (2) ten (10) minute paid rest periods to be scheduled and observed. When working a four (4) day, ten (10) hour schedule, the rest period will be fifteen (15) minutes each. - one (1) rest period at the mid-way point of the first half of the normal hours of work; - one (1) rest period at the mid-point of the second half of the normal hours of work. Rest period will be measured from ceasing work to commencement of labour and will be taken at a time determined by the employer.

  • Rest Period After Overtime (a) When overtime work is necessary, it will, wherever reasonably practicable, be so arranged that employees have at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between the work of successive days or shifts, including overtime. (b) An employee, other than a casual employee, who works so much overtime between the termination of their ordinary work on one day and the commencement of their ordinary work on the next day, that they have not had at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between those times, will be released after completion of such overtime, until they have had 10 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during such a absence. (c) If, on the instruction of the employer, an employee resumes or continues to work without having had 10 consecutive hours off duty, they will be paid at the rate of double time until released from duty for such period. The employee will then be entitled to be absent until they have had 10 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for rostered ordinary hours occurring during the absence.

  • Rest Periods All employees shall have two (2), fifteen (15) minute rest periods in each work period in excess of six (6) hours, one (1) rest period to be granted before and one (1) after the meal period. Employees working a shift of three and one-half (3½) hours, but not more than six (6) hours, shall receive one (1) rest period during such a shift. Rest periods shall not begin until one (1) hour after the commencement of work or not later than one (1) hour before either the meal period or the end of the shift. Rest periods shall be taken without loss of pay to the employees.

  • Meal Breaks and Rest Periods On completion of not less than three hours work after commencement time or on completion of not less than two hours work after the meal break weekly Employees will become entitled to a rest period of ten minutes duration.
