Retention of Employment. The Company hereby continues the employment of the Executive as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company, and the Executive hereby accepts the continuation of such employment, all upon and subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth.
Retention of Employment. For the purpose of retention of employment in the event of a reduction in size of the faculty or elimination of courses, the affected person may exercise his/her seniority as specified in Article X A. by displacing the most junior person teaching in a department(s) or field(s) for which the senior person is qualified. No faculty member shall be displaced if it is possible to provide him/her with full-time employment through the elimination of part-time faculty and/or overloads.
Retention of Employment. For the purpose of retention of employment in the event of a reduction in size of the faculty or elimination for one academic year of courses which a faculty member is qualified to teach at his College, seniority shall be colleges-wide. Thus, faculty members who cannot be employed in their field of qualification at the College of assignment shall have the right to be employed at any other College where a program they are qualified to teach is available. Colleges-wide seniority shall, under these circumstances, be exercised over the least senior faculty members in their field of qualification. However, retention rights shall not be exercised over other faculty member if it is possible to provide them with a full-time program through the elimination of part- time lectureships or overtime first at their own College and then elsewhere in the Colleges. A faculty member transferring to another College in the above circumstances shall suffer no loss of seniority for any purpose.

The Company shall use its best efforts to maintain employment of employees engaged in Panasonic Outsourcing Lines (the “Panasonic Outsourcing Line Employees”) by redeployment or any other method in the event of the reduction of production volumes of Panasonic Products (Outsourcing). Retention of Employment. It shall be the policy of the Board to endeavour to provide full employment for permanent employees before providing employment for temporary and/or probationary employees and/or before hiring new employees. Student Supervisor positions shall not be combined with other classifications.
Retention of Employment. Reduction of Faculty If the number of faculty members is to be reduced as the result of an action taken pursuant to Article 18 of this Agreement, it shall be on the following basis:
a. Reduction shall first take place among administrators who are teaching, then among non‑unit laboratory personnel, then among adjunct faculty members, then among non‑tenured faculty members in the department affected. The controlling factor in these reductions is worth, which shall be defined as teaching effectiveness, professional achievement and service to the department and/or the University. Criteria promulgated for assigning faculty members to teach graduate courses shall not, as such, be considered “worth” or be used as a factor. The procedures for such reductions shall be in accordance with the procedures set forth in Article 6 of this Agreement.
b. Reduction shall then take place among tenured faculty members in the department affected and shall be on the basis of seniority except where (i) the senior faculty members are not qualified to teach the course offerings; (ii) the less senior faculty member must be retained in order to preserve the program; or (iii) in rare and exceptional circumstances, worth, as defined in paragraph 19.01 a. of this Agreement. The procedures to determine retention or reduction shall be in accordance with the procedures set forth in Article 6 of this Agreement.
Retention of Employment. For the purpose of retention of employment in the event of a reduction in workforce or elimination of course offerings, seniority will be the determining factor for retention within each discipline, field, or respective group as defined by Article I for which the senior person is qualified. The College will follow the procedures outlined in N.J.S.A. 18A:60-3 and N.J.A.C. 9:4-5.6 et. seq. Bumping rights shall not be applicable to employees who are non-renewed.
