Adjunct Faculty Members. Adjunct faculty members shall not teach more than fifty percent (50%) of the courses offered in any College of the University in any semester. That limitation, however, shall not apply to professional and/or career oriented courses in programs offered in the College of Professional Studies and the College of Pharmacy, including but not limited to the following: Communication Arts, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice Leadership, Health Services Administration, Hospitality Management, Journalism, Media Studies, Real Estate Management, Safety & Corporate Security, Sports Management, Telecommunications, Transportation, Clinical and Industrial Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Administration.

Adjunct Faculty Members. Effective September 1, 2021, eligible adjunct faculty members who are members of the unit shall receive an across-the-board increase of two percent (2%). Effective September 1, 2022, eligible adjunct faculty members who are members of the unit shall receive the same percentage increase received by full-time faculty members in January of 2022. Three-quarters (3/4) of such total shall be paid as an across-the-board increase and one- quarter (1/4) shall be distributed as merit in the same manner as distributed in 2020-21 provided however that those with a 4.0 rating or higher shall receive the maximum merit increase. The University shall notify unit members what, if any, percentage increase they will be receiving by March 1, 2022.

(b) Adjunct faculty who hold an appointment for more than one (1) quarter shall be entitled to up to two (2) workweeks of paid medical leave during each quarter of their contract appointment. Adjunct faculty contracted for more than one quarter may use their entitled academic year sick leave (four (4) or six (6) weeks) in one quarter for a single, documented medical event and/or other medical condition(s). Approved sick leave will be paid at the contracted quarterly rate in which the leave is taken. Any leave taken beyond the amount permitted in this subsection for the reasons described in Section 14.1.3 shall be unpaid. At the discretion of the academic deans following consultation with area faculty, a adjunct faculty member with an appointment for multiple quarters who exhausts his/her paid medical leave during a quarter may be required to remain on unpaid leave through the end of the quarter. If the faculty member remains unable to resume their responsibilities at the start of a succeeding quarter, they may be required to remain on unpaid leave.

Notwithstanding the above, effective September 1, 2015, following the application of the September 1, 2015 percentage increases, the minimum per credit rate according to rank for those eligible adjunct faculty members teaching for-credit courses shall be: Adjunct Instructor/Adjunct Lecturer: $900 per credit minimum Adjunct Assistant Professor: $1000 per credit minimum Adjunct Associate Professor: $1100 per credit minimum Adjunct Professor: $1300 per credit minimum Notwithstanding the above, effective September 1, 2016, following the application of the September 1, 2016 percentage increases, the minimum per credit rate according to rank for those eligible adjunct faculty members teaching for-credit courses shall be: Adjunct Instructor/Adjunct Lecturer: $925 per credit minimum Adjunct Assistant Professor: $1025 per credit minimum Adjunct Associate Professor: $1125 per credit minimum Adjunct Professor: $1325 per credit minimum To be eligible for the increases, adjunct members of the unit must: a. have taught a minimum of three (3) credits and at least one (1) semester in the prior academic year; and b. teach a minimum of three (3) credits and at least one (1) semester in the academic year the salary increase is effective. Notwithstanding the above, effective September 1, 20187, following the application of the September 1, 20187 percentage increases, the minimum per credit rate according to rank for those eligible adjunct faculty members teaching for-credit courses shall be: Adjunct Instructor/Adjunct Lecturer: $950 per credit minimum Adjunct Assistant Profes...
Adjunct Faculty Members. Faculty on adjunct appointments shall not be granted tenure. In the event a probationary tenure track faculty member has held at least two (2) years of adjunct faculty appointments prior to receiving a tenure track appointment, the employer may apply up to a maximum of fifty percent (50%) of the adjunct years of service toward tenure, but shall apply at least one year of service toward tenure when three or more consecutive adjunct years have been served. The decision to apply adjunct years of service toward tenure shall not be subject to the grievance procedure unless the grievance relates to only an arbitrary or discriminatory application of adjunct years of service toward tenure. The Federation agrees that the ultimate authority to grant or deny tenure is vested solely with the Employer. The Employer agrees that any decision to grant or deny tenure, which is contrary to a Tenure Review Committee recommendation, shall be immediately disclosed with appropriate reasons to both the probationer and the applicable Tenure Review Committee.

  • Adjunct Faculty 5.1 Adjunct faculty" shall be used in this Agreement to mean temporary faculty as defined in California Education Code Section 87482.5. This definition shall also apply to tenured/tenure-track faculty who hold overload or other assignments outside of their regular contract assignment. Unless specifically stated to the contrary, the term “faculty” in Article V of this Agreement shall pertain to adjunct faculty. Temporary assignments of adjunct faculty will be made by management (within the limitations of the procedures set forth below) and shall be compensated as outlined in Article VIII. Except as delineated in this Agreement, adjunct faculty have no rights other than those provided in the California Education Code. The parties agree that all part-time faculty assignments are temporary in nature contingent on enrollment, funding, and program changes, and that no part-time faculty member has a reasonable assurance of continued employment at any point in time, regardless of the status, the length of service, or re-employment preference seniority, of the part-time faculty member. Where income in respect of personal activities exercised by an entertainer or a sportsperson in his capacity as such accrues not to the entertainer or sportsperson himself but to another person, that income may, notwithstanding the provisions of Articles 7 and 14, be taxed in the Contracting State in which the activities of the entertainer or sportsperson are exercised.

  • Faculty a. All instructors teaching dual credit courses must meet the College’s academic requirements as outlined by SACSCOC Faculty Credentialing requirements, as determined by the College. All instructors teaching dual credit classes at the School site must be approved and hired as faculty by the College prior to teaching dual credit courses. The faculty credentialing process used by the College for faculty on the College site will apply for faculty on the School site. The College will designate staff in the respective discipline to supervise and evaluate the faculty on the School site using the same or comparable procedures used with faculty on the College site. b. Faculty on the School site will be evaluated at least annually by the College or on a comparable schedule as Faculty on the College site. c. All Faculty, regardless of where the delivery of instruction occurs, must adhere to applicable Alamo Colleges District and College policies and procedures, particularly sections E, F and H. Alamo Colleges District policies are accessible at: xxxxx://xxx.xxxxx.xxx/about-us/leadership/board-of-trustees/board-policies/ . d. When unforeseen situations arise and the instructor scheduled to teach a course for the College cannot deliver instruction through the entirety of the scheduled course, the School Principal or designee will immediately notify the College’s Office of High School Programs. The College, as per SACSCOC guidelines, must identify a credentialed instructor that can teach the remainder of the college course. An instructor that has not been credentialed and approved by the College may not serve as a substitute to teach the remainder or any portion of a college course. If the instructor identified by the College to teach the remaining portion or any portion of the course is employed by the College, the School District will be responsible to pay the College for the compensation for the period of service of the identified instructor. e. Instructors teaching dual credit courses at the School will be either high school teachers credentialed by the respective College Faculty Chairs adhering to SACSCOC guidelines or faculty from the respective discipline at the College. The cost-sharing model approved by the Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees is based on which party pays the instructor. Please refer to Section 29 - Fiscal Matters herein. The School District is highly encouraged to hire teachers approved by the College as adjunct instructors to teach dual credit courses. The School District is encouraged to provide incentives to have instructors earn the college hours required for qualification and should coordinate approval of eligibility with the College. f. Student evaluation of instruction takes place each semester and will be a part of the faculty annual evaluation process, regardless of where the dual credit courses are offered. Performance evaluation of all dual credit faculty will adhere to College and Academic Division protocols and schedules as it pertains to all other College adjunct faculty, per SACSCOC requirements, as well as those required by the Texas Education Agency. g. Faculty teaching dual credit courses will teach using the respective course syllabus that contains the Student Learning Objectives (Herein referred to as “SLOs”). Faculty based on the School site must upload course syllabi onto Concourse, the College’s official reporting system. h. Dual Credit classes may include both ECHS and traditional dual credit students. Dual Credit students constitute those in traditional Dual Credit or ECHS. i. At the end of each semester, all faculty, regardless of where the instruction is delivered, must submit the End of Semester Clearance report to the designated College department chair by the final grades deadline. j. To adhere to the requirements outlined in House Bill 2504 (“HB2504”), all faculty will publish a curriculum vitae that will include post-secondary education and teaching experience on the official system of record where the course syllabus taught by faculty are maintained.

  • Hospice Individuals whose permanent residence and principal work location are outside the State of Minnesota and outside of the service areas of the health plans participating in Advantage. If these individuals use the plan administrator’s national preferred provider organization in their area, services will be covered at Benefit Level Two. If a national preferred provider is not available in their area, services will be covered at Benefit Level Two through any other provider available in their area. If the national preferred provider organization is available but not used, benefits will be paid at the POS level described in paragraph “i” below. All terms and conditions outlined in the Summary of Benefits will apply.

Contractor acknowledges that such a vaccine or recovery requirement would make Contractor ineligible for a state-funded contract.
