HIRING NEW EMPLOYEES. The Employer shall have the right to hire any person as a new employee. The Employer will, however, agree to call the office of Local 1167 and advise the Union of job openings and will interview applicants sent by said Union.

HIRING NEW EMPLOYEES. 4.01 In those pressrooms and/or lithographic preparatory departments where the Journey Presspersons, Apprentice Presspersons, Assistants, Apprentices and Employees working in classifications covered by this Agreement are now members of the Union in good standing, the Company agree to employ in the pressroom only members of the Union, provided the Union can furnish suitable help. Where the Union is unable to supply suitable help within two (2) working days and other help is available, such persons shall apply to the Union for a working permit before being permitted to work. The Union shall issue a thirty (30) day working permit which, at the request of the Company, may be extended by up to two (2) additional thirty (30) day working permits pending action on an application for membership and report as to the applicant’s competency. 4.02 The employment of apprentices shall be governed by the regulations set out in. 4.03 A probationary period of up to three (3) months will apply to the hiring of all new employees, during which period the Employee, Company or the Union may terminate the employment relationship without notice or explanation, subject to the provisions of the Employment Standards Act. 4.04 The grievance and discharge arbitration and seniority provisions of this Collective Agreement shall not apply to any Employee until after their probationary period is complete. More particularly, the discipline or termination of a Probationary Employee shall be at the sole discretion of the Company and such discipline or termination shall be deemed to be for reasonable cause and not reviewable by an arbitrator under the provisions of this Collective Agreement or otherwise.
HIRING NEW EMPLOYEES. In the event there are no qualified bids for a position posted for competitive selection, the hiring manager reserves the right to hire a new Employee from outside CUNA Mutual Group. Within 1 working day of this determination, all candidates will be notified that there are no qualified bidders, external candidates will be considered. Such new Employee will be the most qualified candidate applying for the position.

HIRING NEW EMPLOYEES. When hiring a new employee the Company shall phone the Union office to advise the Union of the vacancy. If the Union has a candidate who may be suitable for the job, the candidate may be referred to the Company to complete an application and be interviewed. The Company is not obligated to hire candidates referred by the Union. The Company furnish to the Union a list of new employees taken into employment by the Company within seven (7) calendar days of their being hired.

HIRING NEW EMPLOYEES. A. The Deptford Township Board of Education shall retain the right to hire as per the New Jersey Statutes Title 18A. B. The Deptford Township Board of Education shall execute the standard form of school employee’s contract incorporating the fifteen (15) day termination clause by either party, said contract subject to annual issue in accordance with Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes. C. The employee shall be immediately placed on seniority list as of the date of registration in the minutes of the Board of Education. D. In case of discharge or resignation of the employee, the Union shall be notified in writing.
HIRING NEW EMPLOYEES. In the event that no employee in the Bargaining Unit chooses to make application during the ten (10) day period mentioned above in Article 6.01, the Employer may hire a new employee to fill the vacant position. It is understood that any employee hired shall be subject to Article 2.02 and all other provisions of this Agreement. All employees must be bondable and willing to submit to a criminal record check. The cost of such criminal record search will be paid by the Employer.
