Returning Your Device. Students will be required to turn their device in at the end of the school year. Devices are expected to be in the SAME condition, both internally & externally, as they were when issued to them by the district. Students will be charged for machines that are damaged or defaced, based on the severity of the damage or defacement . Students are also required to turn in or replace any peripherals that were issued with the device, such as chargers. Students who withdraw, are expelled, or otherwise terminate their enrollment at Xxxxx High School will be required to return their device on the date of termination. Students are responsible for the general care of the school issued device and accessories. Any device that is broken or fails to work properly must be taken to the Technology Department. District-owned devices should never be taken to an outside computer service for any type of repairs or maintenance. Students should never leave their device unattended except locked in their hallway locker. • No food or drink should be next to the device. Cords, cables, and removable storage devices should be inserted/removed carefully. The device should not be used with the power cord plugged in when the cord may be a tripping hazard. The device must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, and labels. Heavy objects should never be placed on top of device. If a device is damaged, lost, or stolen the parent/guardian will be assessed a fee for the replacement of the device.

If a student finds that their device is not working properly, it must be taken to the library as soon as possible so it can be taken care of by the school district. Carry device with two hands No food or drink should be next to the device. Cords, cables, and removable storage devices must be inserted carefully into the device. The devices must remain free of any writing, drawing, or non-removable stickers. Always transport the device with care. Never lift the device by the screen. Never carry devices with the screen open. Do not put pressure on the top of a device when it is closed. Do not store a device with the screen open. Make sure there is nothing on the keyboard before closing the lid (e.g. pens, pencils). Only clean the screen with a soft, dry microfiber cloth or anti-static cloth.

If a student leaves or transfers out of the Hull Public Schools District during the school year, the device will be returned at that time. Students who withdraw, are suspended or expelled, or terminate enrollment at Hull Public Schools for any reason must return their device with accessories on the date of termination.

Unpaid fines and fees of students leaving Xxxx Xxxxx may be turned over to Small Claims Court for collection. Xxxx Xxxxx may also file a report of stolen property with the local law enforcement agency.

d. Failure to return the device or any accessories will result in a report of theft being filed with the appropriate authorities, and final grades will be held.

If a student withdraws or is expelled from the Lowndes County Public School District, the device, charger, case and any accessories must be immediately returned at the time of withdrawal or expulsion. When returned, each device will be inspected. If any damage has occurred, payment must be made in order for the item to be repaired or replaced at that time. Parents/guardians assume sole financial responsibility for damages.
