Sabbatical for Study. A teacher shall complete at least eighteen (18) semester units of work during a sabbatical year, not less than eight (8) semester units of which shall be completed during either semester while on such sabbatical. The courses must be listed in the planned program presented to the Superintendent and must be upper division or graduate courses. A special project, research problem, or courses, may be substituted for the unit requirement if approved in advance by the Superintendent. Transcripts or other evidence of completion shall be submitted to the Human Resources Department within sixty (60) days after the teacher’s return to duty, except that if credit is to be claimed for salary reclassification (or increment), transcripts must be filed in accordance with the salary schedule. If the course work is not completed, the employee must compensate the District for funds advanced to date.

  • Application for Sabbatical Leave 16.K.2.a. The application for sabbatical leave shall include a statement of the relationship between the proposed sabbatical activity(ies) and the applicant’s current or prospective service to the College and of the benefit(s) that the District shall accrue because of the leave.

  • Workday/Workweek A. The normal workweek for each full-time employee shall be forty (40) hours.

  • Workweek A regularly re-occurring period of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours consisting of seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. Workweeks will normally begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday or as otherwise designated by the appointing authority. If there is a change in their workweek, employees will be given written notification by the appointing authority or their designee.

  • Application for Leave of Absence 25.01 All leaves of absence without pay and any extension thereof must be applied for in writing to the Mayor or his designee, on forms supplied by the Employer, at least ten (10) working days prior to the proposed commencement of the leave except in serious or unusual circumstances, as determined by the Employer. Notification of the approval or denial of their requested leave shall be given to the employee in writing within five (5) working days after the submission of the request. Any denial of a requested leave shall include the reason for the denial.

With the exception of the provisions in Section C.2.b., below, an employee required to work on a holiday listed above shall be paid at the employee's regular straight-time rate of pay for the hours actually worked. In addition, an eligible employee shall receive either compensatory time off or holiday pay at the option of the University at the regular straight-time rate, including any shift differential.
