Safety-Sensitive Function. “Safety-sensitive function” means any of those on-duty functions including:
Safety-Sensitive Function. Safety-sensitive function means any of those on-duty functions set forth in the definition of On-Duty Time set forth in Section 2.5 of this Policy.

Safety-Sensitive Function. A bargaining unit member shall only be tested for alcohol while the member is performing, immediately prior to performing, or immediately after performing, safety-sensitive functions. A member may be randomly tested for controlled substances regardless of whether the employee is currently performing any safety-sensitive functions. A member shall only be selected for alcohol and drug tests while the member is on his regular tour of duty.
Safety-Sensitive Function. All time from the time a covered employee begins work or is required to be in readiness to work until the time he/she is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work.
Safety-Sensitive Function. Is any of the on-duty functions listed below:
(1) All time at a carrier or shipper plant, terminal, facility, or other property, waiting to be dispatched, unless the driver has been relieved from duty by the employer.
(2) All time inspecting equipment as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR's), or otherwise inspecting, servicing, or conditioning any commercial motor vehicle at any time, including, but not limited to, inspecting service brakes, including trailer brake connections, parking brakes, steering mechanism, lighting devices and reflectors, tires, horn, windshield wipers, rear vision mirrors, coupling devices, fire extinguisher, spare fuses, or warning devices for stopped vehicles.
(3) All time spent at the driving controls of any commercial motor vehicle.
(4) All time spent on or in a commercial motor vehicle.
(5) All time loading or unloading a commercial motor vehicle, supervising, or assisting in the loading or unloading, attending a vehicle being loaded or unloaded, remaining in readiness to operate the vehicle, or in giving or receiving receipts for shipments loaded or unloaded.
(6) All time spent performing the driver requirements associated with an accident.
(7) All time repairing, obtaining assistance, or remaining in attendance upon a disabled commercial motor vehicle.
Safety-Sensitive Function. Safety-sensitive function" means any of those on-duty functions including:
a. All time at a Lansing School District facility or other property, or on any public property waiting to be dispatched, unless the employee has been relieved from duty by the Employer.
b. All time inspecting, servicing, or conditioning any commercial motor vehicle at any time.
c. All driving time which means all time spent at the driving controls of a commercial motor vehicle in operation. .
d. All time, other than driving time, in or upon any commercial motor vehicle.
e. All time loading or unloading a vehicle, supervising, or assisting in the loading or unloading, attending a vehicle being loaded or unloaded, remaining in readiness to operate the vehicle, or in giving or receiving receipts loaded or unloaded.
f. All time spent performing employee requirements relating to accidents.
