Scheduling flex leave. Subject to operational requirements and the approval by their people leader, an employee may vary working hours to suit their particular needs or absent themselves from work using flex leave. The taking and scheduling of flexible work arrangements will be made in an equitable, transparent and fair manner that takes into account its impact all aspects of icare’s operations, including the impact on the employee’s co-workers. The scheduling of flex leave must be approved by the people leader and flex leave should be scheduled at least five (5) working days in advance. A shorter period of notice of leave may be approved by the people leader in special and isolated circumstances. When considering the flex leave entitlements of this agreement, employees and people leaders are to ensure that the icare Award requirements in respect to the taking of leave are observed. Should an employee have an excess accrual of recreation leave of over 30 days, flex leave cannot be taken and the employee will be placed on standard hours so as to not accrue additional credit hours until the recreation leave balance is below 30 days. If the application of flex leave is to combine the taking of flex leave with planned and approved recreation leave and will result in the recreation leave being less than 30 days, then flex leave may be taken.

  • Overtime Scheduling (A) It is the intent of the City, consistent with efficient and effective operation of the Division of Police, to distribute in an equitable manner, all pre-scheduled overtime among all members. Recognition will be given to the qualifications of the members and the requirements placed on the City by any third party funding sources. Any complaints by members that pre-scheduled overtime is not being equitably distributed among all qualified members as described above may be brought by the Lodge directly to the Chief's attention at Step 3 of the Grievance Procedure and shall also be a proper subject for discussion in a Labor Relations Committee meeting. Inability to work a prescheduled overtime assignment due to illness or death in the family or injury will not require the member to charge such absence against sick leave or injury leave.

  • Xxxx Leave For laid off employees, sick leave accruals shall remain on the books and be reinstated if such employees are reappointed. Whenever a person becomes ineligible for reemployment and such person has not been re-employed, then, if at the point of layoff such person was eligible to receive a sick leave accrual payoff, such person shall be paid for existing sick leave accruals in accordance with Section 1408 of this Agreement.

  • Scheduling Vacation Vacation shall be as scheduled by the College. Employees shall be entitled to at least three (3) consecutive weeks of vacation, unless otherwise agreed. Employees shall indicate their preference, if any, as to vacation dates no later than March 1 of the current vacation year for the next vacation year (July 1 to June 30). The College shall confirm or deny, in writing, such vacation requests by March 15. The College may, however, schedule vacations at any time and will consider requests by employees, including requests for vacation in the months of May through August, consistent with the College staffing requirements. Employee requests for vacation will not be unreasonably denied. Where in scheduling vacations in accordance with the foregoing, conflicts arise amongst employees as to their choice of vacation times, consideration shall be given to the respective length of service of such employees and staffing requirements in the final determination of vacation schedules, providing they have indicated a vacation preference prior to March 1 in the current vacation year. Vacation requests received after March 1 will be confirmed or denied, in writing, within two (2) weeks of receipt of same. If an employee is given in-patient treatment in a hospital during one (1) or more full days of the employee's vacation, those days may, at the request of the employee, be rescheduled during the vacation year, at a time convenient to the College.

  • Annual Leave Loading (a) In addition to their ordinary pay, an employee, other than a shiftworker, will be paid an annual leave loading of 17.5% of their ordinary pay on a maximum of 152 hours/four weeks annual leave per annum.

  • Study Leave Credits for study leave will be given for educational commitments falling due between an employee's nominated starting and finishing times.

  • Transition Leave At the Appointing Authority’s discretion an employee under notice of permanent layoff may be granted up to one hundred and sixty (160) hours of paid leave, ending at the date of layoff. Hours of leave may be granted at any time throughout the layoff notice period and shall not be subject to the Application and Reinstatement provision of this Article.
