Shift Scheduling. The parties agree that the following shift schedules are examples of the type which will provide the flexibility required to meet the needs expressed above provided the provisions of Article VII Section 4 (b) (i) and (ii) have been met.
Shift Scheduling. The scheduled hours of work of any day as set forth in a work schedule, may exceed or be less than the regular workday hours.

Shift Scheduling. All scheduled shifts will be between four (4) and eight and one half (8 ½) hours of work, unless mutually agreed to between the Employer and employee.
Shift Scheduling. It is understood the Parties can negotiate alternate shifts pursuant to the provisions in the following sections C. to F., inclusive.
Shift Scheduling. 27.01 The Employer agrees that before a schedule of working hours is changed, the change will be discussed with the Union if the change will affect a majority of the employees governed by the schedule.
27.02 Shift schedules for operations that entail rotating shifts shall be posted in the work area at least fourteen (14) calendar days in advance of the starting date of the new schedule. Shift schedules shall indicate the work requirements for each affected employee for a minimum of twenty-eight (28) days.
27.03 Except by mutual agreement between the Employer and the employee, when an employee’s work schedule is revised without five (5) calendar days notice, the employee shall be compensated at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) for the first full shift worked on the new schedule. Subsequent shifts worked on the new schedule shall be paid for at the straight time rate.
27.04 The Employer agrees that it shall not schedule split shifts.
27.05 Employees shall not be required to work more than seven (7) consecutive shifts between days off and it shall be the intent to assign less than the maximum.
27.06 Shift schedules for indeterminate employees shall provide for:
(a) at least sixteen (16) hours off duty at a shift changeover;
(b) at least two (2) consecutive days of rest after every seven (7) consecutive days of work;
(c) every third (3rd) weekend off in succession, and where practical every second (2nd) weekend off;
(d) weekend shall be defined as 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 7:00 a.m. Monday;
(e) period of weekend time off shall be at least fifty-five (55) hours.
27.07 Shift schedules for all employees working modified work weeks shall provide for:
(a) at least twenty-four (24) hours off duty at a shift changeover;
(b) every third (3rd) weekend off in succession, and where practical every second (2nd) weekend off;
(c) weekend shall be defined as twenty hundred (2000) hours Friday until zero six forty-five (0645) hours Monday;
(d) period of weekend time off shall be at least sixty (60) hours.
27.08 Provided at least three (3) days notice is given, and with the approval of the Employer, employees may exchange shifts if there is no increase in cost to the Employer. Employer approval must be sought during normal business office hours.
27.09 A request by an employee to work evenings, nights or days only shall not be unreasonably denied, if a majority of other affected employees in the area concur, provided the Employer shall have the right to assign periods of d...
Shift Scheduling. The Company shall provide an employee with a least one calendar week’s notice of a change in scheduled starting time.
Shift Scheduling. Any shift schedule that falls outside the regular hours of work set out in Article V, Section 1 is, by definition, an alternate shift schedule.

(a) Local PSAC representatives may present an alternative or modified shift schedule to local NAV CANADA representatives for consideration.
(b) If the alternative or modified shift schedule is not accepted by NAV CANADA, NAV CANADA shall so advise the local PSAC representative in writing providing the reasons.
(c) In the case of sub paragraph (b) above, the matter may be referred by either party to the national level of NAV CANADA and UCTE for further consideration.
(d) If under this paragraph an alternative or modified shift schedule is developed following consultation at the local or national level and a trial period is established, the shift schedule shall be reviewed by the parties at the local or national level, whichever is the case, at the end of the trial period to determine whether or not the alternative or modified shift schedule will be continued.
(e) Notwithstanding sub paragraph (d) above and in consideration of operational requirements which may change from time to time, NAV CANADA reserves the right to discontinue the alternative shift schedule or the modified shift schedule, and return to the original shift schedule upon 30 days’ notice to the PSAC in writing providing the reasons.
