Section 9.3.3. 44 Seniority rights shall be effective within the general job classification. As used in this 45 Agreement, general job classifications are those set forth in Article I, Section 1.4.
Section 9.3.3. An employee adopting or receiving permanent custody of a child through the age of five (5) shall be 3 granted an adoption leave without pay for a period of up to twelve (12) weeks after taking custody.
Section 9.3.3 contained in this Section shall in any regard limit the operation of other Sections of this 13 Article. 17 A R T I C L E X 18 19 INSURANCE AND RETIREMENT
Section 9.3.3. 16 A male employee will be granted parental leave without pay to a maximum of twelve (12) 17 weeks, which may be extended by the District up to one year, to begin at any time between the 18 birth of a child to his wife and one year thereafter. Said employee shall request, in writing, to 19 Human Resources, his desire to take such leave at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the 20 date on which such leave is requested to begin.
Section 9.3.3. An male employee, including a birth mother who is no longer disabled from childbirth and 30 recovery, will be granted parental leave without pay to a maximum of twelve (12) weeks, which may be 31 extended by the District for up to a maximum of one (1) year, to begin at any time between the birth of 32 the employee’s a child to his wife and one year thereafter. The employee shall request parental leave in 33 writing to Human Resources,his desire to take the leave at least sixty (60) thirty (30) calendar days prior 34 to the date on which the leave is requested to begin. Unpaid Family Medical Leave may be used during 35 parental leave, by eligible employees, to the extent it is available.
Section 9.3.3. 37 If the position is not filled within the same general job classification, the District will give 38 bargaining unit members first consideration. If an employee with less seniority or a non- 39 employee applicant is determined to be more qualified for the position, the District will provide 40 written reasons for the bypass to the more senior employee. 41
Section 9.3.3. 34 One day for the death of the employee’s aunt, uncle, xxxxx or nephew.
Section 9.3.3. District required in-service training shall entitle the employee to receive the employee’s hourly 20 rate of pay for each hour of such in-service attended beyond the employee’s normal work day.

Section 9.3.3. Nothing contained in this Section shall in any regard limit the operation of other sections of this 47 Article. 5 Section 10.1. 6 Medical as funded and allocated by State less the retirees' carve-out deducted for retirees unless different 7 benefits are negotiated for any other bargaining unit in the District. In that case, if those other benefits are 8 more favorable, those same benefits shall be afforded the union and incorporated into the Agreement. In 9 order to qualify for medical insurance benefits, the employee must meet the threshold established by the 10 insurance carrier. Information on coverage thresholds is available through payroll and will be made 11 available for review through the District’s website. 13 The District will contribute the state health care allocation and the retiree carve-out, provided the carve- 14 out does not exceed seventy-five dollars ($75) per month for each full-time bargaining unit member.
