Short Term Illness and Injury Program. (STIIP) SMS employees will pay 100% of short term disability premiums effective July 1, 2013. All eligible Employees must participate in the program. Note: SMS will increase wage rates 130% of current STIIP premiums to compensate for employees paying STIIP premiums and the marginal tax rate.
Short Term Illness and Injury Program. The parties to this agreement agree to meet during the term of the agreement to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of the banked sick leave system vs a short term illness and injury plan (STIIP). The STIIP would provide a seamless integrated sick leave plan with the goal of providing adequate income to employees who are unable to work, have run out of sick time, but are not yet eligible for LTD. The parties will develop a proposal and communicate this information to the members of the CEP during the term of this collective agreement. Re: Health & Welfare Benefit Plans Committee
