Short-Term Employees. Short-term employees occupy positions (short-term positions) maintained by the District during the fiscal year, 175 days or less in some circumstances and for 165 days or less in other circumstances. 25.2.1 A short-term employee who exceeds 175 workdays in the fiscal year will be paid an hourly rate based on the regular classified salary schedule. If a short-term employee exceeds 175 workdays in a fiscal year he/she will not gain permanent employment rights with the District. However, the agency shop provisions of this contract shall cover the employee. 25.2.2 A short-term position which exceeds 175 workdays in the fiscal year will automatically become a regular position and will be opened for filling. (Filled through the job opening provisions of this contract.) 25.2.3 A short-term employee who exceeds 165 workdays for two consecutive fiscal years will be paid an hourly rate based on the regular classified salary schedule. A short- term employee who exceeds 165 workdays in two consecutive fiscal years will not gain permanent employment rights with the District. The agency shop provisions of this contract shall cover the employee. 25.2.4 A short-term position which exceeds 165 workdays for two consecutive fiscal years will automatically become a regular position on the 166th workday of the second consecutive year and will be opened for filling. (Filled through the job opening provisions of this contract.) 25.2.5 A position may be designated as short-term even though it exceeds the workday limits set forth in Sections 25.2.2 and 25.2.4 above only if documented by Board action as being specially funded only for a specific length of time from non-district sources. A short-term employee working on a specially funded project who exceeds 194 workdays in the fiscal year will automatically become a specially funded probationary monthly employee on the 195th workday of the fiscal year and shall be placed at the appropriate range and step for that classification.

Short-Term Employees. ‌ (a) Short-term employee is a person who is employed to perform a service for the District, upon the completion of which, the service required or similar services will not be extended or needed on a continuing basis. (b) Short-term employees, employed and paid for less than one hundred ninety-five (195) actual days of work per school year, irrespective of number of hours worked per day, shall not be classified as Regular Classified Employees. In the event the employment of any short- term employee exceeds one hundred ninety-five (195) days, he/she shall be classified as a Regular Probationary Classified Employee. (c) Short-term employees shall not be employed for more than one hundred ninety- five (195) working days between July 1 and June 30 of any given year unless and until new limitations as specified in the California Education Code become law and take effect.
Short-Term Employees. The following terms and conditions will apply to the employment of Short Term employees by the Corporation. (a) The Employer shall ensure that a series of Short Term employees are not employed to perform the duties of any one particular job classification, or in lieu of establishing a full-time position or filling a vacant position. Short-Term Employees. Term employees shall have an appraisal following the first semester worked and a comprehensive evaluation following completion of the second semester worked. If the comprehensive evaluation shows that the employee’s performance is satisfactory, the employee will have yearly reviews and comprehensive evaluations thereafter as per Article 7.5 and 7.

Short-Term Employees. The District may employ a short-term employee, pursuant to Education Code 88003, to perform a service for the District, upon the completion of which, the service required or similar services will not be extended or needed on a continuing basis. Short-term employees, employed and paid for less than seventy-five (75) percent of a fiscal year, shall not be a part of the classified service.
Short-Term Employees. (a) A Short-Term Employee who, upon cessation of their appointment, commences a subsequent appointment as a Limited Term Employee or a Continuing Employee in the same position shall be on probation for 4 months. A Short-Term Employee who, upon cessation of their appointment, commences a subsequent appointment as a Limited Term Employee or a Continuing Employee in a different position shall be on probation for 8 months. Any such probationary period can be waived by the Employer. (b) The employment of a Short-Term Employee may be terminated at any time during their appointment with notice provided in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000, and they will not have recourse to the Grievance and Arbitration procedure regarding their termination, unless the decision to terminate is contrary to Article 8.02.
Short-Term Employees. 1. A Mental Health employee who works eighty-nine (89) days or less will receive the appropriate per diem salary for his/her education experience. 2. Employees on short-term contracts will not have sick or general leave, nor will they be eligible for other leaves of absence.
